Right now Myers is a bottom pairing defenseman for the Preds, their top 4 is Josi, Ekholm, Carrier and Fabbro.
- jd250

Which is interesting. Myers started on the second pair.

False. Myers has averaged 18:27 per game which ranks 4th on the team among defenseman and has been paired with Ekholm and Josi this season

he was a healthy scratch last game.

My first thought on the trade is hes signed for 6 more years and Provey for 4. That's at least 4 years of a strong 1st pair.
If Risto and Sanhiem gel, that's a strong top 4.
Third pair can flex but also have York, Z and Morin in the wings.

IF Ellis stays healthy
If Risto improves over his history of play

I did leave that out! I guess the 2nd was the most valuable chip of that deal too.
And all we got was a legit top pair RH defender. Flyers suck

- Bob Habib

We gave up young guys who appear to have talent but have not developed and may never develop plus a 2nd for a solid defenseman who is older and is somewhat injury prone. Think it's a fairly good deal for both sides. Both sides have risks and upside..Time will tell whether it was a good trade

Yes, that 2nd round pick could turn into the next Laberge, Brink, Ginning or Ratcliff. Can't survive without these types of players!
- jd250

Or possible HOF player you never know. Bottom line it was a good deal and one Flyers had to make but unknown at this point who won the deal. It wasnt without cost

So you searched the internet and found some irrelevant information that in no way supports that Allison is out for the season and is not in any way specific information related to Allison. You keep repeating the ridiculous statement that surgery was being considered while ignoring that he did not have surgery. There is no legitimate source that I'm aware of that has reported that Allison is out for the season. Surgery was not considered. If you actually did some research you'll find that they sent Allison to multiple doctors including specialists and it was determined that he did not need surgery.

Again, you made the erroneous and obvious false claim that you "know of many players who had this injury". Name one NHL player that you know of that missed an entire NHL season due to a high ankle sprain?

This is an abject failure on your part and a continuation of some belief that you have that is not based on any known facts.

Again, I am stating an opinion, and I presented why I have that opinion. If you have a different opinion, good for you! I hope you are right, and note I am not asking you to present mountains of evidence as to why you have your opinion. As for me, I will state again that I am not expecting anything from Allison this season.

As I have proven, your opinion is baseless and not based on any facts that are known. You read somewhere before he was completely examined that he may need surgery, which at the time was just speculation. You have completely ignored the fact that it was determined that he does not need surgery. Which rules out that he had the most severe level of injury. There is nothing that indicates that Allison will be out for the full season.

I haven't asked you for a mountain of evidence. I asked you for any evidence at all. You can never back up and support any of your statements. Such as your statement that you know of many players who have had this issue. Yet you can't name one.

What I do best is use the facts to come to an informed opinion. Something that you did not do.

Where did you get that 2nd round pick.l? Think you need to look back at the trade.

Would have still been a really good trade for the now. Ellis is really good. Myers doesn’t have that ceiling. Ellis is just way smarter. I like Myers but this trade was great. Patrick is just the big unknown in the trade. He has talent for sure but some big ? marks for sure.

Ellis is a known entity. The only thing is just guessing how long he keeps producing.

But again there was no second round pick in the deal. Should know the facts before blasting someone over it.
