They need Risto back to help lessen the load. Having Ellis play 25+ minutes and Iavn 27+ is not ideal. Flip side is AV has done well managing Yandle's minutes in the 2 games. - hello it's me 2050
Seeler has also played very well in his role as the 7th guy. I was sceptical but he loos steady and in that role what more can you ask for? |

Its refreshing not watching Jake do some stupid passes. That alone is a win in my books - bradster
I still like Jake s a player but it was long past time for a separation…. |

Last night may have been their most complete game since before the pandemic!! I don't count the round robin games in the bubble cause they were basically exhibition games. All elements were present and accounted for including some much needed physicality in response to one of their players trying to stir things up!! All good, now let's maintain this play for the next few games! The Brassard signing looks great as of now cause he is doing exactly what he was brought in to do(add depth and move up in the lineup in case of injury). Playing with Atkinson and Farabee are probably helping that situation too! My favorite trade in the off season was Atkinson for Voracek and I thought Atkinson was all over the ice last night despite only recording as assist. All good!! |

Anything positive they get from Brassard is gravy. He is on a cheap contract that you can buried if need be. As long as the coach doesn't overplay him and uses him properly (which will be debatable as the season goes on) these are the type of deals you need to make every off season. Whether it is at forward or defense a cheap vet who can help.
MJL just doesn't like Brassard as he said he was washed up.
-Hello its me 2050
the problem is right now Brassard is centering Bee and Atkinson, and I want those two on the ice as much as possible. Thus as long as Brassard is the 2C on this team, he is going to be playing a lot of minutes. I wonder when Hayes comes back, if Hayes would be better centering JVR and Lindblom, and move Laughts to 4th line wing, because I do like the chemistry right now with Brassard on that 2nd line. |

Im not sure you can break up that line when Hayes returns if it keeps playing solid hockey. Plus, it would probably be good to ease Hayes in with 3rd line deployment match ups. - juiced

I'm looking forward to Wednesday game. Should be a good test. I like what I'm seeing. The second period of game one had a last season feel to it. Last night's game had a pre pandemic feel to it.
I can't wait for Risto to play. They scrapped hard last night. It was good to see them stick up for each other. I'm liking Atkinson and that whole line. Ellis is as advertised and make Provey sòooooo much better. Coots line was hot, TK and G on fire. Coots steady as always.
Hart played really well.
I'm (frank)ing excited for games. They are fun again.
At the red of the day, it's entertainment. They are entertaining! Should be a fun year. |

Completely agree. I am not wanting them to take stupid penalties or dress a goon who can't play every night, but yes, stand up for one another.. build those bonds etc.
Good to see and BTW, most of the good teams you see them do this as well. - Hextall271
Wait to RR, MacEwen and Brown get into the lineup, and eventually Morin, we will be a very tough team to play against, and no team will be taking liberties against our best player. I can't overemphasize how important that move by Thompson was in the 3rd period. Here is a guy who was in the box for 12 minutes, and he got out and bee-lined over to that Vancouver forward who tried to fight with G. Its a message not just to the Kraken, but more importantly to the rest of the league, that this year's Flyers are not a team that you will bully off the ice like last year! It was my favorite part of the game! |

He is playing less than 12 minutes a night. Game here and there it is fine. He has done his job

It may not be a bad idea to ease Hayes back in when he returns until he gets back into playing shape but they need Hayes to get up to speed and center that second line. Farabee as I expected, looks to be moving up into an all star caliber player and Atkinson is a good all around player. If Hayes can play up to his ability centering that line, could be a real good line for the Flyers.

And they need Risto to stabilize Sanheim in his own end, because Sanheim is just not strong enough in the slot or below the goal line. |

lol Morin in the lineup. Man if this guy wasn't a 1dt rd pick he wouldn't get the time of day. Do you think when the Flyers are healthy Brown and or Macewen will be in the lineup?
Players will do what they want to do no matter how is in the lineup. Morin or anyone else will not deter that.

Quote didn’t work but this was regarding MJL on Bassard signing
Not sure I agree with you on his play last game. Watched the whole game and Bassard was solid. As he was this game. That line has been humming through two games. That is all we have to judge on all these players.
At this point. Signing Bassard for .825 looks to be a great deal. That’s all I have to go on. Pre season looks to have carried over to his play during the regular season and reminds me of the guy who gave the Flyers fits during the bubble. As of now he doesn’t appear to be washed up. - peesinwind
Of all the lines that give me concern, it’s the third line of Laughton, JvR and Lindblom. They all seem to be doing their jobs but the mix of players do not seem right. I don’t see any of them creating much offense at even strength. |

You the man Cliff. Probably the only flyers fan who thought he was a good player.

What Seeler did and what Thompson did helps build the “team”. You can’t have guys like G. Konecny and Farabee being run without a response. Yes the game has changed…but it’s still hockey. |

Anyone think TK was covering for Jake, with the stupid passes? I saw a handful last night.

I have doubts that Brassard and Atkinson get separated anytime soon. I think that chemistry dates back to Columbus. |

Sanheim is playing well. It doesn't matter if the Hulk is his partner, a defenseman is still going to have to play down low in physical battles. A partner does not eliminate that or stabilize another partner in that manner.
Not to mention that Ristolainen historically has not been a good player in his own end. |

Obviously a very small sample size but you keep Brassard with those guys when Hayes comes back. The third line has been ok, they don’t get much sustained pressure. Willam would probably be the first choice to sit once Hayes is back but geez idk about NAK, he’s got to prove he won’t take dumb penalties. 8 more games to see how things shake out. |

Thought Sanheim was poor in game one but had a great game last night. Ellis actually had a rough first period last night, some missed passes and couple poor decisions but he steadied the ship rather quickly. Provy starting to look like himself again, funny what a quality partner can do for you. |

I would be in favor of that at first and I think an argument could be made to spread the depth around but long term if the Flyers want to be a contender. I believe that Hayes needs to be the 2nd line center. I don't see the Flyers doing anything with Brassard as the 2C.

I thought Sanheim was okay in the first game and good last night. Less on the extremes for me.

Sanheim has been average. He needs to pick it up. Another one who it seems has been overhyped.

Yea probably not best fit long term. Thinking with easing Hayes in like you said but if you’re ready you are ready so. Still quite a few games before he’s back. |
