Of all the lines that give me concern, it’s the third line of Laughton, JvR and Lindblom. They all seem to be doing their jobs but the mix of players do not seem right. I don’t see any of them creating much offense at even strength. - SuperSchennBros
agree. Just seems like there is nothing there between the 3.

Yea probably not best fit long term. Thinking with easing Hayes in like you said but if you’re ready you are ready so. Still quite a few games before he’s back. - ClaudeFather
Peeps need to curb there expectations of Hayes upon his return. 2 core surgeries in 6 months.

I thought when G recovered from his core issue, he wasn't the same all year. Hopefully Hayes comes back strong. Brassard has been ok, but don't want him playing 2C all year.

Anyone think TK was covering for Jake, with the stupid passes? I saw a handful last night. - Robert's Plant
It's called playmaking. And just because you can't see the seam or the play from your sofa, doesn't mean the pass was stupid. |

Yandle is very much go big or go home, the positives have heavily outshined the negatives thus far. I like that he’s always trying to make a play rather than dump the puck. |

It really depends more on the location. If it is higher into the abdomen wall vs. lower and close to the groin he should be able to recover and get to speed more quickly.

Kraken were about as effective as the 20-21 Flyers at sorting out coverages on the rush and plays coming out of the corners. Lot more fun when then shoe is on the other foot. |

Unless he turns back the clock they will go nowhere with Brassard as the #2 center. Not his fault mind you.
Yes I recall Clode struggling and took up to a year before he was normal. That was only 1 surgery. I just see Hayes coming back early and in and out of the lineup. No camp and jumping straight into the lineup may take a while to get going.

Agreed, but can definately see it costing a few goals. Carter bailed him out on a couple turnovers last night. |

That's the thing with Yandle. He's very similar to Gostisbehere. Yandle is really good with the puck and sees the ice very well and creates with his passing. His defense is suspect though and there will be issues with that in the season. At this point he's making plays at a much higher level than Gostisbehere was in the end so if he can continue to do that and limit his matchups. The positives could outweigh the negatives. Of course he is much cheaper also. |

He's been shaky so far. Less effective on the PP that in the preseason as well. Hoping for more from him. |

He’s created a bunch of scoring chances, they’ve cashed in on them too. Great play to TK last night and he had a great hold and fake to get the puck to Coots I believe on the third goal in Vancouver. He does look like he’s going to fall over at times tho, bad passes come with the territory too |

seems only JVR is generating and getting towards the net. Oscar is strong on the boards and while Laughton has been in good position he is just not generating possession and opportunities.

It may not be a bad idea to ease Hayes back in when he returns until he gets back into playing shape but they need Hayes to get up to speed and center that second line. Farabee as I expected, looks to be moving up into an all star caliber player and Atkinson is a good all around player. If Hayes can play up to his ability centering that line, could be a real good line for the Flyers. - MJL
plenty of time but if that line continues I don't see AV changing it but it is a long season, I do see Hayes between BEE and Cam at some point

I don't think we can use Giroux's recovery as "the norm." I believe Crosby had same surgery and came back the same year and played fine. Now, Hayes (or no one) is Crosby but the point is people heal differently. |

Some on here are saying this was a nothing win against a poor team. Well, I have watched a few Kraken games this year, including a good road win against the Predators. They are not a team you can take lightly. After the 7 minute mark in the 1st, the Flyers really played a good game, from the goalie out. PK was 4-4, PP had some chances, and the top forwards were shooting first which is a relief to see. The only line that is not showing a lot of offense is the Laughts-JVR-Lindblom line, though they are checking well. The Flyers will have to turn the volume to 11 if they want to beat Boston on Wednesday, but this is a nice team win! - jd250
Kraken are not a good team at all would be surprised if they win 20 games this year. They look like a true expansion team. That being said good to see Flyers take care of business. Teams like this always seem to give them trouble. Now bring on the real NHL teams and lets see what we have here. |

Thought Sanheim was poor in game one but had a great game last night. Ellis actually had a rough first period last night, some missed passes and couple poor decisions but he steadied the ship rather quickly. Provy starting to look like himself again, funny what a quality partner can do for you. - ClaudeFather
this is so true, Provy needs a solid partner and he is what he is, a very good 1st pair D, enough of the revolving door of spare parts

From my sofa, I saw one pass he tried to make, through two Kraken that got picked off the puck moved out of the zone rather easily. He was up at the blue line near the boards and his intended target was on the opposite side down in the corner.
Brassards goal was a seam pass.

Yandle in the long run is going to hurt you if he has to play more then 8 tp 10 minutes a night. He is slow and not good in the dzone..This was the Kraken folks lets see how guys like Brassard and Yandle do in stretches vs good teams. Boston and Florida coming up that will tell us a lot more. |

lol Morin in the lineup. Man if this guy wasn't a 1dt rd pick he wouldn't get the time of day. Do you think when the Flyers are healthy Brown and or Macewen will be in the lineup?
Players will do what they want to do no matter how is in the lineup. Morin or anyone else will not deter that. - hello it's me 2050
Morin is a capable 7th defenseman, though Seeler looks good in that role also. But we will need both because of the injuries that always happen. I don't know why you pick up Brown and MacEwen off of waivers if you don't plan on them in the starting lineup. |

You cant play your bottom pair 10 minutes a night. He is getting under 16 right now. He is terrible in the D zone!!
You take the good with the bad. No use even dissecting it with Yandle. Once the bad outweighs the good he needs to be taken out. That being said they will allow him to break the record. Now come playoff time if they advance I hope they flyers have a better alternative.
