Myers is a healthy scratch for the preds
Patrick + Myers < Ellis - Bob Habib
Patrick...Myers and a second round pick which you left out of your equation |

Bassard is plus 4 and has 3 points in two games. I’m thinking he deserves a little credit. How about I say that this is not sustainable and he is not a great second line center and you say he’s playing better then you expected? - peesinwind
Its 2 games one against an AHL team.. let's give it 10 games at least. Brassard is a marginal 3C better suited for 8 to 10 minute 4C over a season. |

I always hope their games age well but I am with you that it may be a burden at the end of the contract but that could have been why he was available. He makes provy better and that in itself has value as well.
He's been solid. I live in Nashville so I've watched him play for years. I was ecstatic we got him for what we did.
We have 4 or 5 good years ahead.. probably 4 but I have my flyers glasses on this seaaon - Bob Habib
My first thought on the trade is hes signed for 6 more years and Provey for 4. That's at least 4 years of a strong 1st pair.
If Risto and Sanhiem gel, that's a strong top 4.
Third pair can flex but also have York, Z and Morin in the wings. |

I guess we aren't communicating well here. I watched Jakey play for basically 10 years and Ghost play for 5 years. I did plenty of watching of these 2 players and I know quite well what they bring(and don't bring) to the table. - Phillywhiteout
Neither of them passed my eye test either, glad chuck got rid of them.

Now you're just making it up.
Name one player that had this injury and missed an entire season? - MJL
Allison suffered from a severe high ankle sprain. I base this statement on the report that surgery was being considered. This would be needed in cases where a ligament is torn through completely, and the standard procedure is to insert a screw between the tibia and fibula to hold the two bones together, which relieves pressure on the ligaments and allows them to scar and heal.
There was a 5 year study done on High Ankle Sprains in Professional Ice Hockey Players, and the report was published in 2019. A total of 105 NHL athletes sustained high ankle sprains over the 5 seasons studied. Of these athletes, 85 were unable to play and missed a median of 8 games (22.5 days) with an overall range of 1-271 days or 0-65 games. A retrospective MRI evaluation of 21 scans identified complete anterior-inferior tibiofibular ligament (AITFL) tears in 13 (62%) and high-grade partial tears in 5 (24%) cases.
Given the option of surgery was discussed for Allison, that implies he could have a complete tear of his AITFL and thus the high end of the recovery time reported in this study, which is 65 games or 271 days.
Again, I hope I am wrong but I am not counting on Allison this season. |

I did leave that out! I guess the 2nd was the most valuable chip of that deal too.
And all we got was a legit top pair RH defender. Flyers suck |

Right now Myers is a bottom pairing defenseman for the Preds, their top 4 is Josi, Ekholm, Carrier and Fabbro. |

Yes, that 2nd round pick could turn into the next Laberge, Brink, Ginning or Ratcliff. Can't survive without these types of players! |

So you searched the internet and found some irrelevant information that in no way supports that Allison is out for the season and is not in any way specific information related to Allison. You keep repeating the ridiculous statement that surgery was being considered while ignoring that he did not have surgery. There is no legitimate source that I'm aware of that has reported that Allison is out for the season. Surgery was not considered. If you actually did some research you'll find that they sent Allison to multiple doctors including specialists and it was determined that he did not need surgery.
Again, you made the erroneous and obvious false claim that you "know of many players who had this injury". Name one NHL player that you know of that missed an entire NHL season due to a high ankle sprain?
This is an abject failure on your part and a continuation of some belief that you have that is not based on any known facts. |

False. Myers has averaged 18:27 per game which ranks 4th on the team among defenseman and has been paired with Ekholm and Josi this season |

My only issue with Ellis is, yes, he’s good right now two games in and I do expect him to remain so all season. However, I don’t expect him to be the same player all six years of his deal. I don’t even expect him to be the same player for the next four years of his deal. Along with being an injury prone player. It’s basically the same issue I have with Hayes. Hayes signed a deal he’ll never live up to and it will only look worse as he enters his 30’s. |

Why did Nashville trade Ellis? When will you reveal your plan on how to do a proper rebuild.
