Easy to blame an 18 year old tossed into a poop storm organization...the real and not going anywhere problem is:

but good on him for still being able to post a -1 in a 6-3 game.. gotta keep up in the race for the green jacket. can't let a 6 goal game for your team get in the way

Did he get a minus on Hall's goal? I know he went to the bench after coughing up the puck. If not he could have been a -2.

there were mistakes made everywhere and throwing Eichel into a leadership position was one of many.. hopefully they can turn it around and terry can step back and let the right people make the decisions.. does he have the right people is now the real question

Petey and River brought up the point of surrounding Eichel and Reinhart with guys like Kane while they were still very young and impressionable. Yeah, the guy can play, but man oh man, having your future captain being influenced by a poisonous aura is tough. 1 of a myriad of errors from this franchise.

Well maybe that was countered by the professional, calming presence of ROR. The consummate pro and fitness guru who hosts after-school workouts and mentored young Samson.

Oh, wait, that's the same ROR who crashed into a Timmy Hos in the middle of the night and cried his way off two teams by being a baby to the media. Never mind!

Pegula wasted assets, time, money and a committed passionate fanbase.

Eichel messed up his exit but played like an all-star while he was here. The narrative of bashing Eichel when fans should focus on ownership is interesting.

The new plan is to have 2 shots at another Eichel with the same ownership using the same approach...IMO management has a monumental task of:

1) Full season of stability - can the coaches and players handle an entire season without an epic collapse and can management make the right decisions to prevent breakdowns?
2) Build not re-build a new culture and have the balls to stand behind, this is a game of passion and reaction - pivoting as often as Pegula does ruins any chance at building real culture - can he hold strong?

There is more but this all has to happen while they also try to tank, Adams in stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The saving grace might be the short-but-effective tenure of Patrik Berglund....ahh never mind

The Pegulas have gotten everything that was coming to them on these threads. Jack is a world class player but comes off as a world class weenie babie, with both subjects being addressed quite thoroughly.

Do you really believe every player failed and walked because they didnt get what they want or did they walk away from a piss poor organization? What did you read a report saying thats why they left?

I'd like to know how many players that have left this organization in the last 10 years are still playing hockey at a high level?

Is it all the players or Pegula, most likely a combo of both but to continue to blame the players is a distraction from the problem and a waste of time

You'd have to define high level first. SHL? KHL? My guess is most are, to a degree. Are most playing at a high level in the NHL? ROR, and before all the messiness Kane are probably the only two (BOGO with the cup you say?!?) And that is probably why we are where we are today. (Not counting Sam, Risto, and ultimately Eichel yet, but they can be thrown in there as well)

Wonder if the flyers are working risto in slowly?
He was injured for the first few games.

the most frustrating part is that the pegulas have fallen ass backwards on to granato who is insanely likable, a pleasure to listen to, and seems to be doing a good job

like they hired possibly the worst head coach in NHL history who for whatever reason hired granato as an assistant even though they seemingly disagree on everything, then granato takes over as interim and is amazing?

that's "fracked in the right spot and got rich" energy

Right, I thought most would be. All these have had middling impact with their new clubs (Lehner has had the highest upside but some of the deepest holes too). That's what I was referring to. Should have specified more, my apologies.

Agreed this is just broad scope, I wouldn't agree with minimal impact, games played is valuable and these, even depth guys are all long term players on successful teams.

Players should be plug and play into an organization, the franchise should evaluate on ice talent of off ice chemistry and see if that player fits.

Murray and Botterill did not do that.

Adams talks about it but its still too early.

Edit: Its beyond the point of players publicly saying they don't want to be here.

I’m interested to see where Montour ends up by this seasons end.

He was absolutely bungled here but I’m not sure if he’s good or not.

Wouldn’t surprise me either way
