Or, their play should dictate where they play in the lineup at any given time. - BenderRodriguez
Laughton is as steady as they come. I'm not a fan of lineups constantly changing.

I do agree with lineup stability. My point is that the best lineup/lines should be iced. Brassard on a 1yr deal should have no bearing on that. If he's playing well with his linemates, he should stay there. |

They need to build something here. Everything should be based on building a sustainable team that can compete for a significant period of time. As young players develop and become NHL ready, they should be phased in and short term players on one year deals should take a back seat. Nor should they play ahead of players who are signed more long term. If this team was a team that was a legitimate contender this year, I would feel differently. |

Fair enough. I prefer to see players earn their spots through strong play. It's game three tonight. We don't know if this team is a contender or not. Likely not, but the best lineups should be played to determine that. If they prove not to be a contender, I may be more open to your longer-term mindset. |

Steady as they come. 7 points in his last 37 games. Key player.

Whatever your roster is you play the players in the roles where they are producing. So if Brassard out plays Laughton or whoever he should take a back seat you say. You should email AV and ask him what he thinks of your philosophy. |

I'm absolutely terrified that Jones is starting against the Bruins tonight and I don't understand it at all. Sometimes AV just has some weird ideas bouncing around in his noggin. |

100% , G is signed for 1 year so should he be lower in the lineup? Thats nonsense talk. you dont players lower in the lineup because they might not be here next year. Thats one of the crasiest things ive ever heard. Best players play in the top of the lineup.

The backup has to play at some point - MJL Yes, but I simply don't understand the timing of this. Hart is coming off a good game and needs to build on that. These aren't back to backs and their next game isn't until Saturday. There will be plenty of chances for him to get playing time with a very condensed schedule(Olympic year).

I hear you but the coach has decided to play Jones. Probably based somewhat on what happened last year.

Cheechoo wasn't a bust, either. His health just went splat.
Carter scored 180+ goals in 6 seasons as a Flyer. In what universe is that considered a bust? - Tomahawk
