That was the most dominating performance by a Canuck team in a decade. |

#Blackhawks fall to 0-4-1. They've been outscored 17-3 at even strength and have yet to lead for a single second.
yikes - Nucker101
Must have been why you think OEL is a first pairing defender |

A win in Seattle and I would consider it a decent start to the year. 3-2-1 on a road trip right off the bat is not too shabby. |

Who wins first Habs or Hawks? - VANTEL
Tough
Without looking at their schedules I’ll say the Hawks since Fleury can steal a game |

They should be better once some rust wears off and chemistry is established. |

It is a shame Mtl can't afford their best Dman or best goalie to play

QH is the new Bobby Orr, clearly a Norris winner.

Another monster fish caught in the Wannock River near Bella Bella.
Great job by the hatcheries and the folks and agencies who support them. |

They'll be the best version of themselves they can be this year
Good to see them beat a team they should, hopefully they win in Seattle and keep that momentum and confidence going. |

I think it’s encouraging to see a good bounce back performance after the last game.
They’re starting the season on a long road trip and are .500 essentially, no?
Seems pretty good to me. |

It’s funny how much a win can change things. The Canucks entered Thursday night with a variety of results through their first four games, and it really felt like the game against Chicago meant something. I’m not sure what, but damn it, something was on the line. You could feel it in the air.
Travis Green’s “system,” loosely defined as the Canucks losing a game, was hurled around as an insult in office meetings.
“Who made this Excel sheet, Travis Green?”
The people wanted blood, and who can blame them? For a team that has had as many reboots as Hulk movies under Jim Benning, this was a season in which the Canucks pushed most of their chips into the middle of the table.
This was a season that was supposed to prove that the Bubble Canucks were real, man.
Getting off to such a shaky start against beatable teams? It was a look so bad Elias Pettersson might wear it on Instagram.
Lose against Chicago, and the pitchfork and torches would have been out in full force. Answers would have been demanded from the coaching staff to management to the top players to Dan Murphy’s haircut, to basically everyone but Kyle Burroughs.
A 4-1 win against Chicago on a night when the Canucks endured yet another pregame ceremony, this time honoring Patrick Kane? That should keep the dogs at bay for a little while longer.
Much like that burned-out husk of a Chrysler LeBaron, the Canucks’ game Thursday night wasn’t pretty, but it got them where they wanted to go.

“Hardest three strides of the night probably,” Brock Boeser on Conor Garland’s exaggerated hustle on his empty net goal. #Canucks
