Good riddance to one bobby abreau. Team is much better off without him. Classic addition by subtraction.
- hello it's me 2050

I wouldve been happy to get rid of him for no return. You said it, addition by subtraction

Saturday night will be another nice test. FLA is playing lights out so far. Hart better be ready.

Florida has a shot to be a serious contender this year. I mean, I’m still not sold on that defense. Presently Gudas is on their 2nd pairing. Yeesh. But their forward depth and goalie combo is quite impressive.

Keep your eyes on Lundell. That rookie is going to put up numbers sooner than later.

thanks. interesting that yandle is so much higher than ghost. didn't think ghost would be that far down the list. i did adjust the year to look at the last three as five seems to long. three is more relevant to today.

Did not backread...anyone else cringing at NAK's gaffes early in the game, one which ultimately lead to a Broonz goal?
First a stupid diagonal backwards pass maybe just inside or over their blueline , in a crowded area..that was just a turnover they contained..the other turnover was fatal...There has got to be somebody better than him...

Yandle says bring it.

I've always liked Barkov.

Yes, NAK’s play was noted, but overall you gotta be pretty happy with the result, no?

My favorite seat

1st row upper deck

Dead center behind goal

Love seeing the action both coming and going.

Very easy to see whole ice and developing play

- Stayin alive

I prefer first row, upper deck as close to the red line as possible. But really, anywhere between the blues works for me.

Me, too. Plenty of solid and underrated guys outta that franchise. Jokinen was that player forever until he left town.

Then came the memes

I’m a ‘behind the net/end zone’ guy. I like seeing the plays form and gaps open up. I was fortunate enough to grow up with Eagles season tickets in the Vet, and we were the bottom row of the 300 section in the center of the end zone. There was no 100 level there. I loved it. Nobody in front of you. Pretty low, but high enough to see over everything. They were perfect.

Didn’t go to every game. Maybe 3 per year plus playoffs. My pop used them for business purposes as a spiff to clients. But I was thrilled.

I wonder if a person’s age or affinity for video games has any influence on where they prefer to view events?

Just because someone (okay me) points out flaws or concerning plays/trends doesn't me we are not happy with the win and 2 points. Especially over the Bruins who should be near the top of the conference when it's all said and done.

The goal of this team is a deep run in the playoffs, not beating Boston in Game #3. There will be things that we need to work on and correct if we are going to do anything this year. Making the playoffs is not a gimme this season. We will have to earn it.

That said, I love what I'm seeing this early. Pointing out concerns doesn't mean I'm not happy with the effort or win.

JVR will eventually get going on the PP, Sanheim will start to gel with Risto. Lindblom's been buzzing. He gets on the scoresheet soon. TK, Atkinson, and Farabee need to keep up the goal scoring.

When Hayes gets back, hopefully the 4th is Lindblom-Laughton-McEwen. Could be a good one.
- Glak18

I was thinking Hayes could start out on the 3rd line to ease him in keeping that 2nd unit together. Laughton slides to wing with Thompson and Mac.

Point out flaws all you want. Philly fans tend to dive into X’s and O’s A little more than most, and that’s totally a good thing. Analytical.
Still, sometimes a team deserves an “attaboy” before one starts snippin at the frayed ends. That’s all.

i could see this happening, but i wouldn't be worrying about where to slot hayes in right now. 2nd line is gelling for now, but as mentioned, they all have ridiculously high shooting percentages. who knows how they'll be playing between now and then.

if they're still playing this well though, i would keep them together until they aren't anymore.

Do you expect them to continue to score 5 goals a game? When the scoring lessens or even goes into a slump, which it inevitably will, is that when their overall team game will factor in? Will they be better able to compete and win games if they play a better possession game overall and have the opposition have the puck less?
- MJL

Why would I expect any team to score 5 goals every game? The point is that they are putting pucks into the net and also forechecking and coming back to play a 20o ft game and it's exciting hockey, which we haven't had in over a year.
It's 3 games into a long season and they look pretty good. They just beat the giant who has owned us for years. Our top line didn't score but they also kept the best line in the NHL quiet too. Then we have a second line that looks to be hard for some teams to match up with... All of this without our 2C
There is plenty to be cautiously excited fkr. Let's enjoy these times just in case a slump (maybe) happens. Bank points now for that very reason

It's just 3 games but 3 fun games that give us hope

I'm all about giving them kudos for 2 points. Too many times in the past we have given away 2 points by playing down to the competition. Wins are big no matter in October or April.

Can't wait for Saturday. Finish the home stand strong.

What's the reason why they look pretty good? It's because they've scored a bunch of goals. As you said and the point of asking the question was to point out that's not going to last. When we really break it down, they've played one really strong game and that was against the expansion Kraken. The first game they played a strong first period, a poor 2nd period and a 3rd period where they were shut down for most of the period and then came back late. Last night they were thoroughly out played at 5 on 5 but again, they scored well. So it's very early but looking big picture there are many positives but also plenty of negatives. It's not wrong to point that out. Compared to last year they are certainly more fun to watch but that was a low hurdle to jump over comparatively.
