However tbh I believe Matthews is going to have a damn good game and score at least his first of the season. Keefe ran the boys through a shooting practice this week (the one they Campbell a break on) and I bet Matthews starts hitting the net with his shot attempts more than 50% of the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if a practice like that knocked most of whatever rust was left on him.

Last year it was 61%
Year before it was 58%
Year before that 56%
Year before that 60%
And rookie season 59%

As you can see he’s typically a 60% guy not a 50% which means over the course of the full season it adds up to roughly 8 goals.

Like I said, he’s a TAD rusty and will come out of it this weekend after a shooting practice

Yup, who knows? My main hope is that line 1 starts to take off, especially after a shooting practice which likely helped Matthews take that final little step forward to be truly ready for the regular season (and I’m saying that but also saying he was super close just to be clear lol)

Keefe said they’re trying to set Hutchinson up for success. Makes sense try and get a win the first night and hopefully Campbell can hold the team in the next night if they’re sloppy.

A bit off topic, but I was just talking to a buddy that lives on the Peg - he was saying that Perfetti was sent down.
I can’t remember if it was on here, but wasn’t there claims that he would be generational and a mega star this season and that everyone was wrong to think he was just a real good decent prospect.
