JT's first year, he had the bumper spot on the PP and has a good enough shot to score from there..
- PatC80

and he got greasy goals as well from in front of the net.

I miss Hyman. Can’t afford him now but would love to have him back on the top line.

It’s his plan. If he gets a Cup before Connor puts on his Leaf jammies, he’s a hero. He doesn’t care about the out years.
- Canada Cup

Well, I guess they could always slap the C on Hyman once Connor takes off lol

Old guy who’s talent level has dropped but is still a good leader right?

I was of course thinking about AA; therefore obviously sarcastic...

Oh so it’s about wanting to trade Nylander is it?

Why would Willie stand in front of the net to score? That doesn’t fit his build or his skill set. That’s what Bunting does on that line (among other things) and what Ritchie should be doing.

Willie and Bunting are in the corners and along the boards retrieving pucks, working off together. We get so used to seeing a player a certain way, that’s all we see.

For the record, I'm not one of those who thinks Willy should change his game. I don't think that type of play benefits his build, style, or skillset at all. Someone else said that Willy scored greasy goals, and I disagreed saying that his goals may come at the crease, but they aren't greasy.

That's possibly one of the more sane things he's yelling about

No it’s not, a 60+ point player at roughly 7 million is a deal. Look what happened this past summer… 40P guys like Tkachuk got over 8 million a year

And a petulant child for noting how much we talk about Marner. All of which is true

well, that's exactly right - which should make much of the other hockey related stuff he's talking about even worse...!

Hi, my name is Willie and I’m slick but never greasy. You’re soaking in me now. (I agree by the way.)

Tkaczuk did not get paid only for his scoring. He's going to be their captain. Which apparently justifies Tavares' contract here.

You're one to talk, Dozzer. Seriously, man! Sorry that not everyone agrees with you!
- fifty__missions

For me personally having to read your negative rants daily about the things you hate about the Leafs or specific players is draining & just clogs up the comments. I don't think anyone questions or is unaware of what you think is wrong with the team or what players you think are overpaid / should be traded etc. but do you have to endlessly drone on and on about it every single day in response to anyone with a different opinion than yours?

And then the never ending pot shots against people who do dare to disagree with you to boot - you seem very unhappy, maybe you should take a break from this place for a bit?

And who has said this?

Choosing a guy willing to sit out on the team to be captain is a mistake

And yes, JT was a UFA not an RFA and had a career high of 86P when he got less than 3 million more. And was also already a captain of another team. Yes he was worth a lot more money than Tkachuk who was overpaid.

Lol it’s good to know he isn’t on the LTIR but the Hutchinson start this weekend has me a touch nervous all the same

Insurance should cover leaf fan panic attacks as well by this point

Here’s hoping Ottawa takes San Jose into OT tonight so that the Sharks are good and tired for the 6pm start against the leafs tomorrow

CBS is reporting tomorrow vs San Jose

https://www.google.ca/amp...ing-against-san-jose/amp/

Makes sense to me, a better option to keep Campbell ready to start against the ones who have started fairly well even without Crosby and Malkin (2-0-2, 6 points)

Man oh man I hope not

However tbh I believe Matthews is going to have a damn good game and score at least his first of the season. Keefe ran the boys through a shooting practice this week (the one they Campbell a break on) and I bet Matthews starts hitting the net with his shot attempts more than 50% of the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if a practice like that knocked most of whatever rust was left on him.
