Big hole in D without Ellis, hoping that he surprises and can play. Does it surprise anyone that they would go with Braun instead of a healthy Risto as a replacement, given they are both right shots? Completely agree. I’d be very worried about rr on the top pair of he plays like last game. I’m hoping he can find his game moving forward.

I think he will. I feel once he has a solid performance he can move forward from there.

Braun is limited but at this very moment I trust him at ES over Ristolainen. Plus Ristolainen is coming off an injury and only has played A game.

Sure do. Flyers got smoked by Pittsburgh. Gave up a ton of goals. Gudas wasn't the worst defensively by far. Neither in the playoffs or the regular season.

Lappy saw a chance to prove himself as a tough coach with no favorites to a team he is in charge of with no history on him, Great time to do it, showing the "win" (his would be first win as a head coach) was less important than the process of developing players and playing both ends of the ice. I commend him on it greatly, as no one would bat a single eyelash if he used him as the extra attacker to try to tie the game up late there. Lappy was a leader on the ice and that's a good start to his early early coaching career.

The bigger issues was how many times he failed to clear the zone over the series. Game 6 was a complete dumpster fire for him. Repeatedly, failed clears and boom it’s in our net. Nothing against him I’d take him In the top 6. I think top 4 is pushing it.

Gudas flat out cost them a game in that series with horrific turnovers. Actually, he was terrible that series and many( to the expected reaction) wanted him gone. He rebounded the following year and had a pretty good season
