I think you're mistaking thinking permanent and just curiosity. Also, I don't think Heinen has any competition.

When completely healthy there's only one spot available. Everyone you mentioned aside from Heinen will be vying for that one spot. That said, this is all assuming the Pens will have a 100% healthy lineup at some point and that's probably a lofty expectation.

I agree with the curiosity. Was adding the qualifier for me that he needs to keep up a good place for more then 2 weeks before he's taking a top 6 spot.

I think Heinen has a head start for a spot and hasn't been doing anything to lose it, but I don't think he's so far ahead of ERod, DOC, and Simon that he can't be overtaken. Just my opinion.

And to finish the thread, I don't think ZAR is in any danger of losing his spot. His line has a different role and he's been holding that role for over two years. Even though they struggled in their matchup last night, his line got more ice time then anyone 5v5 other than Dumoulin-Marino. He's earned Sully's trust.

Maybe he doesn't get his next contract here, but I don't see him getting dumped now either.

Just saw that Four Goal Fleury showed up again tonite He seems to be a regular in Chicago They will be trying to give him away soon. MAF has a save % tonite of 78
Hey MAF lovers Do you want him back He is finding out what life is like on a bad hockey team. Really bad hockey team
You now see why Team Canada never wanted any part of him

BTW, Puustinen with 2 goals today. 3 goals and an assist in 4 games. If he keeps this up he'll force his way into the conversation.

Most likely some guys will cool off and these decisions will take care of themselves. But it's nice for once to have too many guys playing like they deserve a spot if everyone gets healthy instead of having a ghost 4th line.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Heinen. I think he's 100% safe.

As far as DOC, I'm excited about him, but I'm quickly reminded of Lafferty's first little stint. I'm just thinking as far as if he keeps this up trying him up in the top six.

I was deep in the forest at a cabin on a pile of mushrooms with 7 friends, 4 of which diehard Leafs fans, when that game was on. We were getting texts from people not with us giving score updates....man o man the laughing I was doing. Good times.

So I have a question regarding Bertuzzi. Does your country refuse entry by its own citizens if they aren’t vaxd? Or is this more so because he’d be traveling in for work?

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, if you are a Canadian citizen and not fully vaxxed wanting to travel back to here you have to not only do a test the day before you leave to come back, the day you arrive here, like a week after you arrive here but you also have to quarantine for 14 days.

I guess if Bertuzzi wanted to come here and had the time to quarantine for 14 days he could...

Also when Detroit played in Montreal they said all the people at the game were vaxd yet still required to wear a mask. Is that Canada wide with the mask or Quebec specific? Or maybe just the arena?

Masks are still a thing in public indoor places here in this province and I'm pretty sure it's nation wide currently. Talks of it ending in some provinces again soon. We didnt have masks here for a while but they started them up again a few months back when our border opened up more.

EDIT: I should say we didnt have mask mandates here for a while but even when we didnt the majority of people still wore them .

Crosby did line rushes this morning. He mostly centered Zucker and Heinen, though O'Connor did rotate in once on each of the wings.

This is the order they went out in:

Guentzel-Rodrigues-Kapanen
Zucker-Crosby-Heinen
Aston-Reese—Blueger-McGinn
Simon-Boyle-Lafferty

Would it be too optimistic to think it's because Crosby isn't playing and they didn't want to disrupt the other lines?

I mean we aren't really going to bench a big forward who is scoring, driving play, and getting in front of the net.... for Lafferty?

Yes, too optimistic.

To the second part, I honestly don't know lol. Logic would state otherwise, but who knows.
