How is it interesting? POJ sucks.
- Feds91Stammer

Interesting in the fact I don't think many were/are expecting the Pens to be active in the trade market.

Is Bertuzzi still avaliable for a package around POJ?
- Barnaby36

Still? He never was. And that’s before he was a known freedom lover.

I wouldn’t call trading a bust being active in the trade market.

I get you're going for the snarky remark, but the Pens were not expected, at least by the media, to make any moves to add to the roster or at the very least, no significant moves. Hextall was also said to not be very open to moving any prospects.

So while yeah, to play into your narrative it's not a big deal, but from the perspective of expectations it could be.

You literally said it in your comment. No significant moves. Move if POJ would not be significant.

You're making an assumption that it wouldn't be part of a bigger move.

Logically how could POJ be involved in a bigger move?

He could be added as a package sending a roster player out.

I don't think PO Joseph is a bust. The skill is there. Work work work. He's no Cholowski, Feds.

Btw. I like Friedman as a 6th-7th D.

Oh yeah, get my (current) fantasy hockey stud in the black and gold stat!... He'd be un fn real flanking Sid or Geno...or even Carter.. or Bluey... Or anyone, really haha. I've been tuning into some Wings action because I have him and Larkin, and Bertuzzi is fire on ice right now.

It really doesn't matter if you, feds or myself think POJ is a bust or great. For every Yzerman there's a Chiarelli. There's always a GM who has the "One man's trash is another man's treasure" and JR was a prime example.

If the Pens still wanted to move out Zucker, POJ could be that added sweetener to make a deal. I'm just using Zucker as an example.

As I said above, for every Yzerman there's a Chiarelli out there. You seem to think everyone sees things through the same lense as yourself.

They both suck.

And the Chiarelli types go for the Schenn, Reinhart, Zadorov, and Gudbranson types. They don’t go for soft puck moving D that don’t produce offense like Pouliot, Cholowski, and POJ.

I could see POJ being traded for a Strome or Kravstov type player, though neither of these guys quite fit the work ethic type of player the Pens have targeted.

I still think POJ turns into a nice player, and I'm not convinced he would be moved but if there is another young player with upside out there I could see it.

There are 298 forwards in the NHL that have played at least 50 minutes at 5v5 this year and here's where Evan Rodrigues ranks among them by rate:

Shot-Attempts against: 1st
Expected goals against: 6th
Raw scoring chances against: 14th
Goals-For %: T-1st, 100%

Interesting tidbit from TIOPS...
- Rinosaur

Interesting though it is TIOPS.

I still think POJ ends up an NHL player and maybe even a top four defensive defenseman who can move the puck. For me depends on how they're doing and what the return is. Team has been doing really well and at least right now they don't look like they need another forward.

Pre ignoring Feds response because I already know we disagree about this type of defenseman.

Sid is out, but he was working on face offs today which he said was one of the last things he needed to test.

Carter asymptomatic so they hope to have him back Saturday. Letang has symptoms so longer.

TIOPS should always be taken with a grain of salt. Goes without saying.

I guess the point I was trying to make that while I happen to agree with you on POJ, what you, me or Feds thinks is pretty irrelevant. We don't know what other GM's think, so it's entirely possible they think he's valuable. 10 GM's could think he's trash and one or two could think he's going to be a really good dman and would give Hex a solid return.

Marino will never be an NHL defenseman.
