Pretty sure in the presser he said he was fine.

Yeah I think this is Keefe tbh… expecting a stay at home pair to be somewhat offensive

Answer my question then. He’s skating with the puck a lot why?

Also it’s early in the season, sit him, play Liljegren, and let him heal up

Somehow this is the coach’s fault either way then

- Dozzer

Its hockey, you are thinking too much. He still has to take the best option and if his arm is injured he will opt to skate more than fire the puck up.

I'd sit him at this point too....but at the same time im not with the medical staff, is it better that he stays conditioned? Idk, I am sure there is a reason he is playing.

Why is it always somehow about you?

😐

Because I’m always the one who says these things first.

I blaze the trail for everyone else. I take the attacks for thinking critically, and rationally about how they’re performing, even when no one else agrees. What you said has been the cornerstone of my entire philosophy on what wrong with the Leafs.

He’s playing for the one line on the team that’s doesn’t have a primary goal of creating offence. Most of his face offs for instance are in his own zone.

Maybe bump Engvall back up there, him and Kase seemed to add the minimum offensive threat you’d want from a checking line

- Dozzer

Take a look at the offensive contributions Stanley Cup teams get from their 3rd lines. Because, according to Dubas, we are "contenders".

This is him trying to play a role that isn’t his strength and nothing more.

This early in the season if he was so hurt it effected his game they’d sit him and heal him and not risk the rest of the season without him.

This is him trying to be the puck moving d man in the shutdown pair.

Always right yet 2 extremely contrary opinions about Dubas 2 days apart

This team is so screwed, it’s even worse than it looks. There’s zero prospects in the system, and they have a very shaky blue line, the foundation of any good team.

First of all, I don’t have any faith in Dubas to be able to right the ship, and by extension Shanny. I’d even sack Keefe, but I blame him less than the other two. The culture is rotten. They’re too soft, and they don’t play with any heart. So, in order to salvage the season MLSE has to make some major changes. All the problems started when Dubas caved to Nylander’s demands. It set a terrible precedent. Which led to Marner and Matthews demanding more than they deserve. And because of that, they had to let the real heart and soul of the team go. Kadri, Hyman, Freddy were real leaders, they cared.

Idk why it was decided that they had to get Tavares. And why did he have to be captain? What was the rush? The guy is a square, and seems to posses few leadership qualities. Kyle Dubas arrogantly thought he was going to reinvent the way hockey was played and he fell flat on his face. I don’t even want them to make roster changes until he’s gone because he’ll just (frank) it up more.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Lol 2-3 days ago

“ Contrary to what most Leafs fans think, Dubas likes Marner a lot more than Nylander. He consistently goes to bat for Mitch, and angrily calls out people who criticize him. I have faith in Dubas for this reason. I think he’s smart enough to move Nylander before a more important part of the core like Rielly or Mitch.”

William Nylander
- Santo_44

Prime example.

He doesn’t play the right way. The last 3 games he’s been really, really bad defensively. He’ll get a goal, or make a nice play, and somehow it justifies every giveaway, flyby, lack of effort along the boards, fanning on the puck (which he does 3 times a game), and making plays that just kill the offence.

The leafs have their third and fourth lines flipped and that is all

Not sure why they do it but that’s the case

Probably cause the 4th line is at an age they can’t play 3rd line minutes

Who knows? But I do get what you’re saying FYI

Players play hurt all the time.

I just disagree, I've watched Muzzin long enough, he has been in the league for over 10 years...I do not believe this is Muzzin trying to play the game differently, not one bit.

The Leafs are pressing because they are not scoring…… a lot of bad pinch decisions by both the defensemen, and forwards covering for the defensemen.

I didn’t even bring him up, Doz.

But he’s a major reason for what’s wrong with the culture of the team.

One thing that is annoying me is Kerfoots role.

He is a good PKer...great I like his mins there.

But Kerfoot is a good puck transporter and has some decent offensive skills. He really deserves a chance in the top 6 and he has proven to be effective there in the past.

He has a lot more to give, but he needs to be given the chance to succeed offensively.

I agree.

This is just about Muzzin. We have seen how Muzzin plays when he is hurt...This looks a lot like him.

He is not the type of player to lose confidence or focus.

You guys ever notice how I never say you guys are wrong, or hurl insults, or start this garbage?

I just say I disagree and move on.

And I disagree with your statement. I don’t think he plays the right way. He’s exhibit A when it comes to not playing the right way.

Third lines role is to shut down top lines and get puck into opposition zone for the big boys. Fourth line provides some zip and some scoring. There’s a temptation to give Spezza more minutes but does that leave him with nothing for playoffs
