Remember when the Hawks were good, and someone would post something like…

“You should go check out the Canucks (Blues, Preds, Flyers, etc) thread. Those guys are losing their franking minds!

Remember? That was awesome.

This sucks.

Hey Blackhawk fans How are you enjoying the Four Goal Fleury experience I gave him that nickname back in the day and it seems that the legend lives on.
The only reason this guy has so many wins in his resume is he played on a team that could overcome his shortcomings (Brain Farts) The guy is a head case. Team Canada never came calling because they never trusted him either. Penguins should have won more cups but this idiot has some many playoff disasters its hard to recall all of them.
Guess what ..............He is not the answer to your problems Dump his ass

Will the Bears or the Hawks have more wins by Thanksgiving? Hawks have already spotted 3 to the Bears. Can they miraculously come back from that deficit?

Brooks Kieschnick?

Remembered him but this was Kevin ? and as I think about it more I think he was initially a 3B prospect and they ended up trying to move him to 1st base…could be wrong but pretty sure I have everything but his last name…or not. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Not sure who posted it a few days ago but I specifically watched last night and the number one reason our transition out of the D-zone is atrocious is the fact the D and forwards are often switched. 2 forwards down low and a d-man up high b/c of this puck chasing system.

Just watch other teams hold the puck and carry it up high or below the dots to the corner. Hawks D chase up high or will chase to the corners. Hawks forwards start scrambling trying to cover.

It opens up so much ice. Make the Hawks start chasing in their zone and ice will open up for easy prime scoring chances.

I have no idea what the Hawks are trying to accomplish in their own zone. Teams aren't even forced to dump the puck in.... just skate it in and the Hawks will start chasing.

If only the goalie was all that was wrong with this team. Even Corey Crawford at his peak couldn't bail out this group. Fleury was a one year gamble. It's not like they signed him to a max deal. As for dumping him, he might retire before that could happen, if this is all about what's going on in his head, or worse yet, if he's playing hurt.

I was just going to mention him. And let's not forget who was in charge of marketing when all these players were being hyped as future perennial all stars.

Supposedly next year the big 2 are Wright, and Bedard then everyone else.
- LAHawk

I think Wright and Bedard are one draft year apart

Jeff Gorton is a guy who I think did a good job with NYR. He ran the team from 2015-2020. He saw that the team wasn’t moving in the right direction with older players, announced a rebuild to the fans, and stuck to the plan. That drama last year got him canned, which I thought was pretty silly.

He managed to tank for Kakko and Lefreniere while still keeping Zibanejad, Kreider, and Trouba. He signed Panarin. Traded for last year’s Norris winner Adam Fox. The most important thing is he stuck to the plan. Yes the Panarin splash was a big ‘win now’ move, but it didn’t suddenly get them to trade their previous top pick and sell all the future first rounders.

He’s had some bonehead moves likes Brendan Smith, Kevin Shattenkirk, and not developing Anderson and Kravstov properly to the point of them requesting trades. But looking at their future with Panarin, Lefreniere, and Kakko up front supported by Fox, Trouba, and Shesterkin in back… they have the right pieces to contend.

- ObeseOprah
He really hasn't done anything special either. Lucked into Lafreniere(12 teams had an shot at that lottery) Overpaid Trouba, Fox only wanted to play for the Rangers. I'm not against firing Bowman but this guy is nothing special either.

Yeah this is what bothers me the most actually. The pick is lottery protected but I'd rather end up the 10th or 12th worst team by the end of the season to spare us from losing out on a whopper on what I recall is a decent draft class in 2022.
- Popsghostly

Lottery protected means if the Hawks finish with their pick being number one or two overall they keep it and it moves to a different year

Arizona is likely to lose to Florida tonight, so the Hawks should be back in a tie for the #1 spot tomorrow morning.

I had the Hawks penciled in for 3-6 in October, but that was predicated on beating NJ & DET.

That was a Sunday for the ages...

The bears...well.....I blame myself for watching up until the start of the Hawks game.

The Hawks...well....I would have hoped playing the Wings, having a few days and come out with some desperation and want to in the game last night and post a solid victory.....on top of knowing you were without your best player.

I was dead wrong....this is NOT a fringe playoff team. THis is a high priced collection of veterans who in turn as a group are a total disgrace and they aren't appointment TV any longer. If I have a free time, I'll watch, but otherwise....I hope the ratings for TV plummet and ad companies take their dollars elsewhere.

The sellout streak ended last night. You have fans openly chanting "Fire Jeremy Colliton" at the end of the game. You have just went back to back years exceeding franchise streaks to start the seasons without a lead, and this year....topped your putrid record by setting the NHL record since 79-80......You have a head coach giving the dry erase board to his players during a timeout to set up THEIR OWN play.....I mean in all the years during the McDonough golden age run, when the Hawks were scouting in Sweden did some scout or even Bowman himself see JC and fall in love with him? Does that explain why he gets brought over to be the AHL coach for 1 year, and then quickly ushered in when Q is fired?

I honestly don't know what organization is more of a joke right now....the Bears or the Hawks......and if a Sunday vs the Wings only gets 19K in attendance just wait until the early winter/spring when this team could be POTENTIALLY buried in the standings......You want changes? Hope the Wirtz's starting losing a TON of money with an expensive roster, and on ice product that is so bad that fans refuse to pay to watch it live and wont' watch it remotely.....that MAY wake Danny up and force him to do something....but at this point does firing JC or even Bowman REALLY change this outcome? I don't know.....

OH...and the main hockey guy at ESPN tweets that "the Hawks need major changes now. This is pathetic!"......during the game, and pokes us about the Hawks draft pick only being protected if it's 1st or 2nd overall.

Sadly....Hawks havent' hit rock bottom.

BTW....if you take off the rose colored Hawks glasses....if Toews was on another team and the Hawks were in contention would you give up a multiple prospects/picks for him? Not a chance in hell...even if the Hawks retained 50% of his salary.

Kane....maybe....but to think we have some major assets that could land us a huge overhaul....sorry....I don't see it.

I predict that the Hawks will have the worst record in the league if they finish with one point. But, knowing Stan, he will lose the lottery and the #3 pick.

- HawkintheD

Kevin Orie's claim to fame was his blatant error that was scored a "hit" vs Houston in 98 when Wood struck out 20.

Outside of that.....forgotten.

Patterson was good in 03 until he blew out his ACL....after that, never the same. All he did was K in huge at bats.

Exactly why I cant fall in love with prospects or picks until an organization shows they have a history of drafting guys that make long term impacts.....cubs scarred me for life as a sports fan.....

Why would Wirtz allow a trade of Toews or Kane when they will be the only 2 reasons anyone goes to the UC for the next 20 months? He will milk that cash cow for as long as he can, and even offer large extensions.

The 10 years of the Q era was an anomaly for the Hawks in getting 88 & 19. It was a lottery jackpot the organization benefited from hy now being worth 1.36 billion (anyone remember pre 88-19?)

Rocky came in at the perfect time in getting those 2 and is going back to being a Wirtz and a poorly owned/run CHI team

I think he did solid work, not perfect but certainly not this ‘we’re all in, wait rebuilding, I just sold the farm we’re in’ nonsense that Stan has embarrassed us with. https://thehockeywriters....ers-gorton-tenure-review/

If the reason Kane and Toews won’t be moved is strictly for attendance then we’re back to 1999 and Bill Wirtz. And we’re in for a long rebuild. All moves must be made to improve the team, not to get a few extra people into the the building or for sentimentality sake.

They won't be moved because playing the way they are right now nobody would pay $5.25M for each of them.
