Is your other screen name "Between the Dots"?

If not, have ever read his posts? If not, I understand....

Lol to be fair the poster admitted Murphy was his outlet for all his Hawks frustration, i.e. he knows there are other issues besides Murphy.

I’ve only been back a few days, but if Between the Dots also loathes Murphy’s play, well he just made a new friend.

I think the only player on the Hawks he likes is Dylan Strome. It is like they are related. He dogs everyone else.

Murphy makes some absolutely bone headed plays

However, I'd be curious to see him play in a more constructive environment that suits his skills under a different coach.

Purse strings loosened?

They paid Gilmour. Offered Hull a ton. They offer sheeted Keith Tkachuk. Went after Chris Gratton with a big offer too (at the time I believe)

They put Pulford out to pasture at 71- which had to do with McD as President as an outside person more than Wirtz himself.

Did Dollar Bill cover up a sexual harassment scandal like son Rocky? And would Bill have kept those people hired?

I don't know. Bill probably would have used that as a reason to clean house in both saving face and money

I do know Rocky still hasnt held Stan accountable and this happened under their watch soo....🤷‍♂️

Nagy tests positive for COVID.

Hopefully he had dinner with Colliton last night.

Be something if they got their first win with JC on the shelf.

Ditto...2003 was the final gut punch for me. Haven't really followed baseball much since if at all.

On your question, in terms of the bigger embarrassment, it's still the Bears and it's not even close.

Yes the last several Hawk seasons have been less than stellar and this year is just bad but failing to even at least adequately identify talent at the most important position in the sport for decades is embarrassing.

Getting owned by your division rival for three solid decades is an embarrassment.

The McCaskeys don't do anything else but football and they just aren't very good at it.

The worst thing that ever happened to the Bears franchise is Mugsy Halas' death. Papa Bear Halas never wanted the McCaskey's to get their hands on the franchise. Virginia and her 11 kids have no real wealth except for the value of the team.

The Bears have for the most part floundered since the Superbowl they won in the 85-86 season, making the playoffs in only 7 times in the last 30 years (and losing 1 superbowl). The Hawks, regardless of how easy the perception of making the playoffs may have been, made the playoffs for 38 straight seasons, before a horrible 10 year stretch between 97-07 where they only made them once, but did produce the roster that brought us the 10 year championship stretch of 3 cups.

What current Hawks Jerseys/shirts are around the rink now - other than 19-88?

Murphy? Kubalik?

Once 88 & 19 go...those people who just started following the Hawks in 2007, are in for a very rude awakening

Wirtz is always gonna Wirtz

What else did Rocky do other than hire McDonough who convinced him to put the games on TV in the 21st century?? Lol

I still saw 81 jersey's in Raleigh before we moved.

Yes but a huge "but!" The cheap hit on McMahon by Charles Martin when Ditka "owned" Forest Gregg and the Packers effectively ended his career with rotator cuff surgery. I've said for years, replace Montana and Young with Tomczak and Harbaugh and whomever else you want to throw in and see how many Super Bowls the 49ers win then... They should have kept Flutie but hindsight is 20/20.

There are still plenty of "old" hawk Jerseys around like Hull, Mikita, Chelios, Esposito, as well as "new, old" jerseys like Seabrook, Shaw, Sharp, Hjalmarsson, Hossa, Keith.

Of the "new" guard, I think DeBrincat is probably the most popular, though I have already seen a whole bunch of Fleury, 29 jerseys this season.

A lot of factors went into that team never being able to repeat. McMahon's injury was a reason, so was Buddy Ryan leaving for a HC position. Injuries to key defensive guys like Leslie Frazier, and guys being slowed by age and injury, and the biggest reason was probably Ditka becoming Ditka. His dedication to his persona and endorsements took precedence over his coaching.

Disagree on Flutie, never much of an NFL QB.

Murphy is paid like a 3/4.
All I ever see on this board or else it's the coaches fault is we expect our 5/6/7's not to make mistakes.
It's like wishing your kids listened to you but then what would we have to female dog and complain about?

Been a tough start to the year.
The boys need to take it one shift at a time.

Why was a Strome's stick in the air when he took the double minor with 5 minutes left? (And should have been 2 minutes plus the double minor...) his play has most certainly NOT forced the coach to keep him in the lineup.

So, no termination of JC today, meaning he'll survive to coach one more game.

The next time there are two consecutive days off in the schedule is after the November 9th game against Pittsburgh. That will be the team's 14th game.

Up till this year, I was a JC supporter. Now, I am 60/40 to fire him. If they are 0-13-1 (actually a legitimate possibility), and JC is still coach, I may take the rest of the year off.

Still waiting for the official "vote of confidence" that starts the one week firing clock.

Team: "We stand behind (the coach/manager) 1000%"

One week later:

Team: "We've decided to go another direction. Thanks to (coach/manager) for all his hard work...."

I don't think they did that with Q, either. The timing caught us by surprise, as many of us had expected it to happen at season's end.
