Not touching on the Skinner situation, but I'm surprised so many are concerned with our salary cap situation. We have 15m in space, Okposo/Eakin/Butcher/Miller money coming off within another season and a lot of ELCs coming. Probably lose some long term cap in the Eichel trade from the sounds of it as well.

If we're up against the cap in 3 seasons it's because the kids all go nuts.

I think I can understand reticence to retain for 5 years, but you aren't wrong...only big, big price tag looks to be Dahlin. If we're giving up 10, eating 2 isn't a huge deal, we're going to need to sign someone this offseason to get to the cap floor if that's all we do.

I think taking on a shorter term 2-3 year contract from the acquiring team seems more reasonable...but if the price was right I'd be listening too.

I wonder if they had been in talks with Fla before they picked Rosan to see if they could get Levi. Had Fla said no way, perhaps they take one of those two at 14, and Sam is dealt elsewhere. Don't see Fla saying no, because of Knight and Bob, but you never know.

Maybe try to make the Chicago deal bigger and better by offering one of our three goalies along with Eichel. I'm not sure who they have in their goalie pipeline.

The Jets have won 1 game, their season isn't on the line, it's over. They are giving up draft capital for 2-4 weeks. That pick could be a 5th which based on how their season looks could be the 1st-4th pick in that round.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Umm you mean the top NCAA goalie or the other NCAA one that has 3 shutouts in 5 college games this year?

Biggest difference from last year to this year so far is goaltending the second is cohesiveness. These guys are playing as a team.
