Those other teams have all earned a break from fans, or the benefit of the doubt. They win a round or two, go to conference finals, or the cup itself. You are just stroking Marner at this point with that comment. Edmonton finished like dog poop last season, do you think they let it carry over? No. They are playing like their lives depend on it.
You always were clueless. - MisterBrown
Now now, play nice.
Edmonton looks great so far, let's see how long that last (hopefully all season, I want to see McDavid go far in the playoffs)
Leafs finished the year playing like crap and they've started the new year playing the same way (outside of 3 games)....stars invisible, no urgency, starting off very slow, the D all over the place. Maybe this is just the new leafs? Or maybe instead of going through a bad stretch 20 or so games in, they've simply started off with a bad stretch.
Difficult to tell with this soft team |

I'm still thinking ....
Emotions aside this is actually pretty interesting. It's crazy that the 5v5 scoring has dried up this much. When was the last time MM had a 7 game stretch with 1 point - when he was 3, maybe? Love him or hate him he's been a point producing maniac his whole life ...this is wild. Add in a slow start for AM and JT. |

The Leafs have learned from the Habs last year, are working on lowering expectations, will barely squeak into the playoffs, and turn into the Cinderella story of this year's playoffs? |

Ya, not sure.
Regardless of who we like/don't like it's getting close to unbelievable how unproductive the Big3 have been. Eventually the damn will break. |

This is the worst stretch I've seen of passing and receiving ...they can't string passes together.
Get it to the net and muck it up. Eek out a win and build from there. |

The 2nd and 3rd goals were bad IMO. (I get that campbell kept it from being 5- 1 even before the empty netter but I those two he should have had)
But both were examples of what it looks like to outwork the other team
No chance on the first goal |

if things go really off the rails, they can just trade Rielly instead of losing him for nothing

What a horrible world series match up.
But Alex quickly turned things around in Atlanta (he should still be with the Jays) so I guess I'll root for the braves. |

Sorry?
I don’t think people watch the show for Socio/political commentary or help with investing. I think they tune in to watch/listen hockey folks talk hockey.
2 ex Pro Players and a host who was a pretty decent player himself (at least a Jr player).
What’s with all the comments about players intelligence? You know they play hockey professionally and get paid to play hockey right? I’m a weird twist - the lack of intelligence might just be commenting on the intellect of ex professional hockey player on the subject of…….Professional Hockey.? - Big23Questions
I watch sports for entertainment, I watch (mostly listen to) sports shows to learn stuff about sports. Overdrive seems like drivel to me. They seem to run through the same lame routines and I don’t find their interviews particularly interesting. I have to admit I haven’t listened to more than 10 minutes at a time in a while. Most TSN intermission segments have kind of become the same. CBC stuff tries way too hard to make me love Canada.
But yeah I’d rather listen to a good interview on the Atlanta Braves or the national soccer team than dumb poop on the Leafs. I can get that here.
