I would typically agree with this. It happens all the time. But the concern I have for this years play is the turn overs that are occurring each game and lack of consistent offensive push.
I am not doom saying or saying sell the team. Just that needs to be righted with this new coaching. It was not this bad last year. - NYRCeph

That was a crappy game to watch.
I did like seeing Panarin have his moment of puck dominance, but that was flushed down the toilet with the numerous turn overs. WTH is with these obligatory turn overs. It is hard to watch.
But hey, atleast we won faceoffs, right.
- NYRCeph
Definitely. I never miss a second, but I kinda wish I had watched the Oscar Peterson documentary I passed instead!
Right from the start, they were handling the puck like a grenade. We should have a Gilbert tribute before every home game this season. |

Yea, I was thinking about that as well. It was. But the turn overs are a bit different this year. Can chalk it up to a new system being learned. Just is hard to watch those unnecessary passes get picked off and result in goals. |

Still waiting for Laf to take over a game. 1st overall pick looks like a middle 6 winter at best
Need at least one game where he’s the best player on the ice. Yet to see it - nyrangers2
He’s 20 years old. Jesus |

I’m not saying he needs to perform at a point per game clip like mcdavid and matthews. He’s just yet to do anything that he did in jrs or at the worlds. I was expecting him to have games where he’s the best player out there. He needs to improve his skating and strength. There are games where he’s not noticeable |

People always seem to think that there is a direct relationship between draft positions regardless of draft class quality.
Not trying to say that I don't think Lafreniere will be a quality player. But, it is simply irrational to expect that someone should score/play like McDavid or Matthews or Crosby simply because they were a top draft pick.
Breathe people, IT. WILL. COME. |

Not comparing him to them at all. He just hasn’t shown any flashes of his potential yet

Neither Jr.s nor Worlds are playing against the top 1% in the game. |

Trust me, it doesn't make me any less annoyed watching it. I just recall them being in a big hole early on last year.
Decided to check hockey reference:
They started off 1-4-1 and didn't hit hockey .500 until the tenth game. They then went to 4-7-3 at game 14 and did not get back to .500 until game 21. They hung around .500 until game 35 where they went on a roll before losing 5 in a row towards the end. |

I wasn't saying you. Just seems to be the general consensus.
And I think we have seen flashes. But, ONLY flashes. I've seen real good awareness and his shot is world class. Plus, he seems to have a real passion for the game overall. That should help. |

I get that. Just thought he’d develop quicker based on how much he dominated at that level. He’s producing at .43 points per game. He’s been solid just not spectacular yet |

As an aside, Strome gives a really good interview! He will definitely be around the game for a long time, I think. |

I get the concern, I want him to be better too but I think he will be great regardless of the slow start to his career.
Remember, he had a completely non-normal first season (I know other rookies did well but everyone's an individual in a different situation). He then has a new coach to start his next season. The whole team is misfiring/dead so far with the exception of the goalie(s). Hard to single out any individuals except the ones being paid boatloads to not show up so far. |

Yea Laf his far from my main concern. The top 6 high paid veterans who can’t score 5v5 and on the pp are the problems

Brooks post article actually says exactly what I’m saying about Laf. He’s been solid but they need a lot more from him |

Yes it was but they didnt make the playoffs too!!
No need to panic, big roster turnover, new coach, new system, gotta give it time. It could be much worse, look at the Leafs. |

"Saad Yousef recently followed up on Jeff Marek’s report indicating Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg’s camp is seeking an eight-year deal worth between $62 million and $68 million. That would put his annual average value between $7.75 million and $8.25 million.
Yousef, however, cites sources confirming that’s just the starting point for Klingberg’s contract. The belief is the defenseman is a $9 million to $9.5 million player. Yousef speculates Klingberg might have to accept less than $9 million if he wants the full eight-year deal or a shorter-term if he seeks over $9 million."
Oooof Foxs contract might look scary!! |

Sounds like seeing Dune last night instead of the game was a good choice. |
