I would run with what they have now truthfully.

The older guys are showing the youngins what it takes. I don't need playoffs, I want honest effort. Then bring in the skill guys to a team that will outwork everyone. Those skill guys will realize they too have to outwork everyone as well.

Next off season get a goalie for the next 3-4 years while Levi, Portillo, etc develop, and get some skill guys to bring in (preferably younger ones).

Granato has his team playing like Teddy Nolan's teams, but also has a system and doesn't bench a kid for making a mistake.

He is the perfect blend of heart but smart coaching

I've never been a big UPL fan. I am also very wary of goalies who have undergone hip surgeries especially double hip ones. He falls under the etc. for me.
