I've seen multiple times online people saying that basically everyone on the team knew, and the player was being chirped at practice for it, sounds like it was very much the case.

Per Friedman there were 26 players who were considered witnesses.

It's tough to read, and some of them are still playing. If guys like Toews/Kane/Keith knew, I don't know how a current teammate can respect them and as an opponent, I'd be temped to take some runs at them, especially during games that aren't close

Clearly he did not learn from his past situation when deciding it was ok to draft Logan Mailloux this season.

I don't believe in just sweeping things under the rug by telling this guy you're not allowed to be in the NHL anymore. Maybe someone like Bowman who was in charge of the team but others, counselling and other things should be mandated.

You can't really change a culture if you don't change the way people think and educate them.
