I think you continue to drastically oversell his play. When he is good he is just okay. He didn't do anything bad last night, nor did he make a big impact. Justin Braun is a better player than he is.

Martin Jones was awesome last night, high in his crease challenging shots and completely, I mean text book, square to the shooter. It was very impressive!

I thought he made a big impact, especially on the PK. One thing I noticed last night was as he was going into the corner to battle for the puck, the Vancouver forward saw his coming and literally jumped out of the way. That is exactly what I want Risto's impact to be, it just wasn't there with the Flyers last season. Also his did a good job settling the puck and getting it up ice. Finally, as a team the Flyers were much better in o-zone starts, 53.5% and as a result Risto's Corsi was 54% which is a really good sign for him. I really liked what I saw from Risto and its nice to see the metrics back that up.

Good quality NHL players will not be moving out of the way because he is coming. Justin Braun is a better player than Ristolainen is. He was okay. Wasn't bad, certainly wasn't great. Need much more from him to justify the trade.

Yes seriously to this point. Braun is better on the puck and better defensively. Ristolainen is showing no signs of contributing much on the offensive end or in the transition game to set him apart. Right now if Ellis was healthy, I would play Braun with Sanheim and Ristolainen on the 3rd pair with Yandle.
