They are 8 games into the season.
How do you develop chemistry when Green is switching lines every period?
There is no more excuses, it's sad out there. New faces, new hope ain't working, time for a new (frank)en coach and GM if he won't fire the coach. - manvanfan

EP hasn’t come close to earning his raise. He held out & is slow outta the gate. He needs a demotion if anyone does.

That takes them to US Thanksgiving. All winnable games, but can they get it together? Hopefully the stiffer competition will help them elevate their game. |

How do you know he “held out”? Should he have just accepted the first offer the club made? |

It’s probably a little of both. If you adjust your system to be less aggressive then naturally the number of chances you give up should drop, which they have, but you should also see a reduction in the number of chances for as well, which I think we’ve seen.
But the top offensive players, especially Pettersson haven’t been good enough early on. - 1970vintage
This team isn't built to be a defensive juggernaut. |

the sad truth is that with the biggest star on the team, you have to let him play himself out of it.
put the big line together and run with it. this isn't rocket surgery. |

I agree if TG runs it for many games & not tinker. That I’m not so sure he will do that. I’d play Bo’s line more if Pearson was demoted. |

With having Miller on the otherside of the PP, you have eliminated the one timer, teams can easily shade over to EP then.
Time to give the PP a 2nd option. Boeser to the right side. Miller to 2nd PP. |

Basically saying EP isn’t up to full speed & too much is expected of him. Not ideal on the 1st line yet til he gets into his rhythm. - Nighthawk

that makes sense as they do have the players to make a good 2nd unit.
but then you'd also have to look at time allocation between pp1 and 2. it only works if pp2 actually gets more than 20 seconds to work with. |

Nobody knows but them. But you are assuming that the player is at fault when the organization clearly owns some of the blame. |

Why would Lu agree to that? Does Lu have any influence? Torts is as stale as it gets. |

This. Funny on the broadcast last night where it looked like PP2 was going to get a minute and then 20 seconds later there was a whistle and PP1 was right back out. |

I wonder what Shaw's impact has been so far – the team is better defensively (at least not giving up as many glaring odd man rushes), but has it come at a cost of some offense? Or is it just players not performing up front that's the main drop? Probably more the latter.
As for replacements, I don't have one person to champion. I posted this link the other day with available coaches/GMs, seems like there are some good candidates both inside and outside the box: https://www.espn.com/nhl/...didates-nhl-coach-gm-jobs - NewYorkNuck
They've altered their forecheck strategy so the 2nd guy sits back a little bit more, it has caused less odd man rushes against, but now Van isn't generating enough high quality chances for because they're not in deep quick enough to capitalize on mistakes. That's what I've seen anyway. |

I would say coaching experience. He has won a cup and he is good at teaching certain aspects of the game to players it seems. |

Petey was quoted saying he traveled to Van in the summer to try and speed up the process, I don't think he was the one being overly stubborn... |

Make sure to go over his spelling homework with him a couple of times. He's struggling with it. |
