A good long road trip should develope chemistry and team bonding.......... Oh wait.
- K-man25

Rewind back to the preseason when career AHLer's who were inevitably going to be sent down were still eating up spots on lines that needed a realistic combination to create chemistry.... but Green keeps forgetting which league he is in.

You look over the stats and you can definitely see there was effort tonight but clearly they are not playing as a team... no chemistry, no system being followed, lots of confusion.

Philly's 4th highest line together on the ice 5v5 tonight.

Zack MacEwen Patrick Brown Nate Thompson 5:18

Canucks high's line

Brock Boeser J.T. Miller Vasily Podkolzin 5:28

Horvat, Garland, JTM, OEL and QH are all playing well.

Hoglander, Pearson, Pods, Myers and Poolman playing fine.

The problem is EP40 and Boeser, our two snipers and players relied up to put up points are way under performing.

This is hurting the team.

Wonder if there is some locker room problems with Petey. Maybe Miller hid his unicycle or something.

Every game I look at the allocated minutes and all I see is a coach who is (frank)ing lost.

I think Marwood has a running tab on the excuses.
Seriously though they look lost and confused out there, I think Green might be the problem. Better jump on Torterrella before he's scooped up.

Hits are 38/21 for the Canucks.
- boonerbuck

Historically when the Canucks throw that many hits, they always lose.

Yeah first game where I never really noticed him ... now I know why.

Pods was seen consoling him saying Welcome to the Travis Green doghouse.

They are 8 games into the season.

How do you develop chemistry when Green is switching lines every period?

There is no more excuses, it's sad out there. New faces, new hope ain't working, time for a new (frank)en coach and GM if he won't fire the coach.

It's early in the season, I'll wait awhile longer before panicking.

What signs do you see that things will get better? The results are same as last season.

I like the talent and depth of this roster better, the top line will figure it out eventually

Those two being a bit snake bitten to start the season is a mid pack problem for the team right now.

They are hard to watch even when they play well.

Green on Garland's lack of minutes: "A lot of times the minutes reflects how a Coach thinks they're playing. Read into it how you will... We kind of ran three lines for a bit at the end.

That pp is a joke. Relies on one play JTM leaving the zone coming back in and running straight into a defender where he either drop passes or to quinn or pounds one into some shin pads. Other than that, it’s just cross ice passes to guys standing still. The odd time it makes it through, guy is in no better scoring opportunity.

You think he can’t play defense, but there is more to playing defense than cross checking someone in the back while standing in front of the net, or laying flat on the ice not stopping a 1 on 1.

It’s about the total contribution, balancing the offensive and defensive contributions, playing time etc. giving 6 years to a guy who averages 16 or whatever minutes is a pretty big commitment.

Nobody is talking about Hamonic’s 2 year $3m per deal as rich but if it was a 6 year deal don’t you think it would be too much?

- 1970vintage

Huh?
I make a comment about paying a decent defenseman around 3 million and you ramble on about someone making 6 million and another player providing total contributions.
