The Kings are shopping for D this might be the best move for Z - DEDDIE
Last thing I'd want to see them do is send a monster within the division. This generally doesn't work out well. His contract is 1 year and it's a long season, we're going to need him eventually.
On another note maybe Torts was right. Just checked the standings and it's nice to see both the Oilers and Canucks below us.
Can't remember the last time the Flames started this strong out the gate. Nice change.
The Flames are the third team in NHL history to sweep a road trip of five-plus games while never trailing in each contest, joining Chicago in 1996 and St. Louis in 2017. - CBC - itwasin

If I recall, when we were coached by Greg Gilbert in 2004 or 2003, I cant remember & too lazy to look it up, but we jumped out of the gate at something ridiculous & then by November the wheels fell off. Pretty sure Roman Turek was in net, got injured, then couldnt stop a beach ball. Thats when Sutter came in & we acquired Kipper.
I could be wrong but I know Gilbert was the coach for that winning streak out of the gate that one year. Fck Im old

Gilbert, the guy that didn't like Iginlas center, Savard. Wasn't sorry to see him go.

I regret to inform you that (to paraphrase RBC) you're older than you think.
Obviously it wasn't 2004! Shame on you. Lol.
Not 2003 either.
It was 2001-2002. They were 13-2-2-2 (W-L-T-OL) out of the gate, then they lost 16 of their next 19 games!
Thankfully, I'm too old to remember that.
(Be patient, give it a few more years...you'll be fine too. ha ha)

Hey at least give me credit for getting it to within 3 years
Yeah & if I recall that rocket scientist Button who was the GM at the time not only gave away Savard for a few pucks but he resigned Turek in the middle of that win streak & way over paid him lol.
Man Zad looked way worse than I feared but luckily Gud has been pretty good
Thought Gudbranson would be a much slower, less useful player than Zad....now that Zad contract looks terrible
Hope he finds his game and can be useful when it matters in the playoffs if we need his size - cpltanto
Meh, the Zadorov contract is just 1 year and a easy hit to move if you really had to, but I'd give him a bit of time to get his legs back under him and he'll probably be fine for what we expect him to be... a 5-6 dman
EF says that Vegas is close to acquiring Eichel…

Those long term injuries created a lot of temporary cap space for them. Bet they acquire him and shelf him for the season only to have him return in the playoffs.
Smart strategy. Not sure what they move to acquire him. Not a ton of "great" players in their farm system outside of Krebs and maybe Dean?

Really curious on the return. - rmull905
Jack Dugan and a couple 1sts likely on top of Krebs
Sounds like they'll have a spot that needs to be filled on the Cup before long. Why not a special mention for the Flames? After all, it was in. - itwasin
Yes it was. Was in Calgary during that series visiting my in laws. They live in Mount Royal just a few staggering blocks away from the Red Mile. What an absolute blast. Too bad the wrong team won.
