Coots has 9 points in 6 games and leads the team, think he was worth the new contract? Yup! - jd250
I actually think Atkinson has been a huge catalyst for the team offensively. That guy has a motor that won't stop. Love it! |

Atkinson has been strong. What he and Farabee really need is a playmaking catalyst at center. If Hayes can get back and up to speed, that could really improve that line. |

How great was that Flyers PP goal in the first? That was one of the sweetest plays I have seen in quite a while! - jd250
Equally impressive was the first goal. Beautiful pass and shot. To use a hockey phrase, a goal-scorer's goal |

Agreed, but Brassard has not been bad at all. That line has been the Flyers best. Hope to see Hayes soon, but with them winning, it gives him more time to recover without as much pressure to return early. |

Brassard has been okay and has played well away from the puck but he doesn't drive play or routinely set up his linemates. He also doesn't carry the puck a lot as a center. That line was scored really well and not given up much. I think they have an 8 or 9 to 1 goal advantage. However they routinely get outshot and have given up more scoring chances than they have created. Atkinson and to a lesser extend Farabee have been really hot shooting. That's not likely to continue. They need better center play to improve that line for the long haul.

I don't disagree. So far, the line has been much more than serviceable and this should give Hayes more time to recover and get into shape so he step right in. |

Brassard is a good defensive center but is often behind the play. I think he would be a perfect 3C for this team when Hayes gets back. |

They're living off line rushes right now. When systems start to solidify and teams begin cleaning up their mistakes, there will be less of those kinds of opportunities available.
The most consistent scoring lines are able to manufacture offense from extended zone time AND score off the rush. |

They are currently getting the job done though. He will not be in that position all year as Hayes will return soon. |

Very happy with winning both especially when considering they were back to back. The early points will matter later in the season.
The new additions have worked well so far. |

Not just that. But can’t remember how many times last year we utterly failed on the counter attacks or the odd man rushes. |

I fell asleep after the first period. Looks I saw all that I needed to. Great to see MJ getting back in a groove with a strong performance.
The games have not been the train wreck that last year's games were, even when they were winning early in the season. Let's hope the Flyers keep up the great work in the coming week and this season. Going to the TML game next Wednesday night. - Letterkenney

Last year it would have been dump-it-out hockey with that slim lead. Kind of like football's prevent defense, which often prevents you from winning |

Brassard has played well….it’s never a problem to have too many good players. Hayes will need some time to regain his form…that’s a tough injury to handle. So far the new guys have played well. |

that was supposedly his whole issue as to why he was an absolute corpse going through the motions for the pens. Definitely admit its sour grapes for me at this point haha
I'll admit i was pretty excited when they got him. Guy was an empty sweater.
He's playing very well for you guys though, and considering the contract its found money at this point and even if he fizzles out its no big harm
