No kidding! A team that is already at a true contender level is in a better position to give up the future asset and take the risk. With the position the Flyers are in, they should not be taking the risk they took in trading for Ristolainen.
Obviously at least for me anyway, you don't know that you have no idea who the Flyers would've selected if they had kept the pick. Speaking of something that escapes someone.
The cap hit is high for Hamilton but at least he is a legit difference maker. Barrie was not the kind of player they were interested in. I would've preferred if the choice was standing pat or trading for Risotlainen, that they stood pat. No doubt.
False narrative. No need to do that. Doesn't change any of the facts or what kind of player that Ristolainen is. I can't predict what any NHL team would do just like you can't. Really a foolish question to ask.
I'm not sure how overpaying for a mediocre player is what the team needed. I think many including yourself are mesmerized because he can throw a big hit every now and then. Right now, Justin Braun is a better player. - MJL
I'm not at all surprised that you don't have a better solution to what the Flyers should have done other than stand pat, as you never do, you just crap all over everyone elses posts. Stand pat and wait for what to happen exactly? What would our D have looked like if we did nothing? The same as last years - are those results acceptable? How would they have gotten better if we did nothing?

It's not up to me to have a better solution. If that's the standard that you want to apply then don't let me catch you criticizing a move the team makes without offering an alternative. You also don't seem to understand that what I said is given the choice between trading a 1st, 2nd and a player for Ristolainen versus standing pat. I would choose standing pat. I have not any time in our conversation suggested that they should've stood pat overall. |

It's not up to you to have a better solution? Are you kidding me??? We're on a site run by Eklund who's m.o is to make up crap trade rumours everyday. What exactly are you doing here? This is basically fantasy land. You act like you know more than an NHL GM, yet you don't want to make any positive suggestions? Do you think Chuck is going to read this and give you a call? |

That's Eklund's m.o. not mine. Each post you make gets more and more poorly thought out. The discussion is about the Ristolainen trade and what kind of player he is. The only fantasy involved is those labeling his play as great or that he is exactly what the team needed. You're moving off of the subject matter for obvious reasons. You'd be better off just waving the white flag. |

True, your m.o is just being negative of everything and anyone. I never said he is great, I never said he is what we need, but I did say he is better than what we had. Remember when you said Myers would thrive in Nashville as a top 4? How's that working out so far? |

thats not true, he isnt negative about all. he likes hextall, youth such as meyers and patrick. And constantly talks about how good jake is by reciting his stats from 10 yrs ago. He is negatie about chuck, the moves chuck has made. I never once heard about the awesome deals ronnie made, like signing ghost, jvr, etc.... Those awesome contracts |

Ristolainen kinda sucks. Don’t compound an awful trade by overpaying him. |

What’s up with Monohan on the fourth line? Secrecy about Ellis is also annoying, give us an update - ClaudeFather
Forgot to mention that he's on the 3rd or 4th line but he's also on the PP. |
