It's more about good puck support, retrieval, management and simply winning battles.

Guys like Atkinson and Farabee can pick off passes and score off the rush, but do you really see them winning many 50/50 pucks? Same goes for G and TK. They all have to show more puck hunt and doggedness on the forecheck.

The only guys who are consistently getting their beaks dirty and winning battles with any consistency are the dudes on L4, Coots, Oskar and JVR. That's simply not enough.

They also dump the puck in and out way too often.

Even when there is no need and they just flat out give up puck possession.

Can’t wait to hear about 3 games on 4 nights and a long trip to the west coast as excuses

All the Flames had to do was to limit the Flyers' rush chances to completely shut them down. Flyers are gonna struggle against patient, disciplined teams if they don't learn to play with the puck more, manufacture offense.

Yeah, that.

I dunno, perhaps I'm off base, but this seems eerily similar to last year. Remember that they got off to a good start last year, but it was because of timely scoring and good goalie play. Seems very similar this year. If Hart and Jones don't play really well in the first two games of this trip they very easily could have been 0 for. They aren't outplaying anyone and this will catch up with them like it did last year if things don't change.

Once the flyers shooting % also come back down to earth it will be interesting to see how they perform.

True, your m.o is just being negative of everything and anyone. I never said he is great, I never said he is what we need, but I did say he is better than what we had. Remember when you said Myers would thrive in Nashville as a top 4? How's that working out so far?

Actually it's not my m.o. I have been accused during most of my time as a hockeybuzz poster of being a guy who green lights every move the Flyers make and wearing orange colored googles. Two things here, actually 3 things. You can't seem to get anything correct. Second, you're attempting to change the subject and finally third, your attempting to get personal. You need to do that because of your weak position.

All you do is make things personal when you call people stupid, which you do all the time. The funny thing is when you call people stupid it is typically based on their opinion - do you understand how that doesn't make any sense? You come on here to argue, you don't add anything to the conversation, and you want me to 'waive the white flag' like this is a game that can be won. Get a life.

I have never called someone stupid. Please provide one example where I have. If I don't add anything to the conversation, then why are we having an ongoing conversation now on it's second day? You just don't like that he hasn't gone your way. The whit flag comment was only brought out after you proceeded to comment on me personally rather than the subject matter. Which you continue to do here. You most recent comments are not adding anything worthwhile. Get back to hockey.

You don't need to call someone stupid to call them stupid. Reread your own posts, there are plenty of examples.

No kidding! A team that is already at a true contender level is in a better position to give up the future asset and take the risk. With the position the Flyers are in, they should not be taking the risk they took in trading for Ristolainen.

Obviously at least for me anyway, you don't know that you have no idea who the Flyers would've selected if they had kept the pick. Speaking of something that escapes someone.

The cap hit is high for Hamilton but at least he is a legit difference maker. Barrie was not the kind of player they were interested in. I would've preferred if the choice was standing pat or trading for Risotlainen, that they stood pat. No doubt.

False narrative. No need to do that. Doesn't change any of the facts or what kind of player that Ristolainen is. I can't predict what any NHL team would do just like you can't. Really a foolish question to ask.

I'm not sure how overpaying for a mediocre player is what the team needed. I think many including yourself are mesmerized because he can throw a big hit every now and then. Right now, Justin Braun is a better player.

Neither is an example of calling someone stupid. This has gotten way off track and it is your doing. If you want to discuss the actual subject matter, I would be happy to continue. However not interested in continuing the childish and petty discussion that you turned it into.
