So for the few that were on the Myers bandwagon, is it time to just admit he is not good?? Fresh start with a team that needed help on defense and the guy is a healthy scratch. Should tell you all you need to know! - jd250
No, it's not time. Is it time for you to admit that Ristolainen is not good? The defenseman who was on the ice for the most shot attempts against, shots against and scoring chances against was Ristolainen. His defense partner and line mates weren't much better.

Shutout losses don’t sit well with me. Hart played well.
Just my opinion, the 7th defenseman filling-in and the 4th line players are not the ones relied on to score. The top defensemen, PP units and scoring lines are looked at to carry the scoring. If it’s not the goalie who gets picked apart in a loss in which he had zero chance to win with no goal support, it’s the depth players like Seeler or 4th liners who take criticism.
As a whole, the top of the Flyers lineup was not effective in producing scoring chances so they didn’t score. That is why they lost. Game was 1-0 going into the 3rd. Technically a close game, mostly due to Hart, but the loss feels deflating without any real pressure by the Flyers to score.

I didn't see the game but the numbers back up your premise. The 2nd line and 2nd defense pairing again got throttled. I talked about this previously and how this would catch up to them.
Seeler was on the ice for a couple of goals against and a couple of poster have singled him out without detailing the errors on the plays. Seeler deserves some criticism but not all of it. He has been a gamer and has played well relative to his ability this season.

Things that have already been pointed out…taking too many penalties, lack of focus on the possession game to the point that a few players need to be better and have a more positive impact than we’ve seen.
I don’t know if I am more grumpy because I’m tired, too busy or the disappointing lack of offense I watched when I should have been sleeping, but I will give this a rest and see you all Tuesday! (7pm )

They just didn’t play well. They were chasing the game all night. Hart looked solid, but efforts like last night as a whole can snow ball…and start to hurt his confidence much like last year….although this teams make up does appear different. |

Seeler seemed a bit over whelmed but with injuries they are kind of limited with what they can do. |

Seeler is not an everyday NHL dman. When he plays more than a game here and there he gets exposed. That being said it isn't his fault he is playing more than he is right now; it is the GM's.

I think you should watch the game ... numbers don't tell the story. Seeler was and is a disaster out there, yes he tries hard, but he is not good and was exposed numerous times last night. He was also out there in the PK, which I really don't understand, and paired with various defense partners, most likely to hide him. Risto was fine last night, got called for a BS interference penalty in the 2nd but otherwise won most of his puck battles and once again covered well in the slot area.
The bottom line is the Flames are really good, and the Flyers didn't have their legs, thus the combination should have been a lot worse than it was, thanks in large part to Hart. |

Or it's been the injuries to Ellis and Ristolainen that have caused him to in. |

Wow! 5 teams in a row basically throw the game away when they play the Flames. And then the Flyers do exactly the same thing! Unbelievable.
How could you just not even show up when you have a chance to grab an easy 2 points?
They've got no scoring, lost the only decent Dman they had and the goalie's garbage with a save percentage of barely .950 (.992 and only 3 shutouts in the last 4 games.)
How could all you eastern teams allow such a crappy team from the weakest division to just sneak into 3rd place in the league?
You all had a chance to put them right back where they belong and you blew it. Big time. |

True….Seeler not an every day guy, but what team has a 7th-8th guy that really is ? |

When they knew Ellis was out more than 1 game, and they knew, York or Zamula should have been recalled. There is zero upside in playing Seeler for an extended period. Him playing 12 minutes a night will tax the other dman at some point. Add in the fact you need to shelter Yandle 5 on 5.
