Only the Flyers can win 3-0 and still be disappointing. |

The Flyers really got out played again for a lot of the game. I don't have tunnel vision like some do. I look at how the team matches up against the top teams in the league. After all they made major trades and capped the team out so a win against a winless team is not impressive. Especially when they had to go into the 3rd period to do it. Play that way against a quality team and it's probably a loss. This is what I know that you don't. - MJL
Just to remind you, the Flyers are 5-2-1 this year. This was the first home game after a 3 game trip out to the northwest. You yourself said the Flyers were strong in the 3rd, so I disagree the Flyers were outplayed for most of the game. Once again, when Seeler and Yandle were out there 5 on 5, it was not good. |

This is another statement that you didn't think out. You say that I said the Flyers were strong in the 3rd so that somehow points to disagreeing they were outplayed for most of the game? What about the other 2 periods?
Actually it is the 2nd line that was the issue again and really has been all season that is the 5 on 5 issue.
Just being in the playoff hunt for this team for me is not good enough. The overall picture to this point does not bode for this team being a contender. Two of their wins were against an expansion team and a 0-8-1 team.

Color me unimpressed. To me this team is still reminding me of last year's team at the beginning of the year. They spend large parts of the game in their own zone and it's as if they simply can't escape(especially in the second periods of games with the longer line changes). If Caaaaater Haaaaat doesn't play his arse off once again this game could have ended up in the loss column. The good news is that Caaaaater Haaaaat is playing very well!! The bad news is that this team still generally looks unimpressive. I know.....a win is a win is a win!! Is it me or does Farabee look gassed? Seemed like he was languishing this evening and losing all puck battles. Perhaps not. |

Completely agree. Farabee has not played well in quite a few games. |

the first period was even. The first half of the second period was pretty much all Coyotes, but then the Flyers picked it up after that and pretty much carried the play the rest of the way. Yes, the 2nd line struggles 5 on 5 but they got SCREWED in the 2nd period. There was no whistle or even an attempt at a whistle, thus there is no basis for the refs to call that goal back!
You know who I am really liking , MacEwen. He is really a smart player and good defensively, he was a good pickup for the bottom 6 by CF. Sanheim has at least 4 chances off the rush tonight and shot the puck over the net each time, that's frustrating. |

No, the first period was not even. In the first period the scoring chances were 13-5 in favor of the Yotes. The Flyers had a spurt at the end of the 2nd period and then controlled the 3rd period. You know what I'm looking for? For the Flyers to play the way they did in the 3rd period for the entire game against an 0-8-1 team.
Sanheim only had two missed shots in the game. The 2nd pairing had it's first decent game all season tonight. Although against a really bad team.

Ok, but lets consider a few things. 1. The Coyotes are winless but they are better than a winless team. They have some talent there and certainly played hard. 2. The Coyotes goalie was making some really nice saves, and 3. The Flyers got screwed out of a pretty clear goal in the 2nd plus a post on the PP in the 2nd, 4. the Flyers just came back from a road trip. |

I don't buy any of it. Play the way you did in the 3rd period all game. Remember all the talk in the Summer about how they traded away the players that were the problem and changed the culture? They played down to an inferior team and then showed up in the 3rd period.

I don't think the legs where there for the 2nd straight game, especially on that 2nd line. I willing to chalk it up to the recent travel, but if it continues after this, there is something else wrong.
Just heard AV's post game presser, his assessment of the game is the same as mine, what can I say! |

The first period was all sort of sloppy by both teams but I wouldn't say the Flyers were outplayed. I would say both teams were fortunate in was 0-0 because both were rescued multiple times by their goalies. The first half the second period, I would say the Flyers were outworked.
From the disallowed goal onward, the Flyers were the better team. They still needed Hart to step a few times when it was still 0-0 and 1-0 but Philly had the better of the overall play.

They've played 7 games coming into tonight. What reason would they have to not have their legs. Forgive me for not taking your word for it on AV's presser. I've seen two many times where you reported something inaccurately.
