Running a player is a term used to describe targeting a player due to some animosity and with anger. Rather than physical play within the normal scope of the game. - MJL
Agreed. There isn't any reason to "run" Ghost. He was a very good player for us initially but following injuries, his game didn't evolve the way the coaching staffs wanted and his time ran out here. It's that simple. He was always a decent, nice, likeable guy during his time here. There isn't a single reason for anyone on the Flyers to think they need to "run" him even if some knuckleheads want it. Personally, I wish nothing but the best for Ghost wherever he goes. |

I would absolutes target him and his side of the ice. As soon as he takes a big hit he is looking for it and gets off his game. - Peter Richards
Target his weakness? A OK! That's the game.
"Run" him with an intent to injure or intimidate him? That's over the line. |

The days of the effectiveness of point shots with traffic in front to take away the sight lines and get deflections and rebounds are most definitely not over. It is still a very important element of any PP. - MJL
Agreed. Why would you ever stop taking away the goalie's sight line?

Ghost was fun to watch when he was at his peak. Just could not sustain that peak. They traded him. He didn't ask for a trade. Why would anyone be mad at him. Letting Ghost play his own way would seem to be to the Flyer's advantage right?

You have to be physical on Ghost and he will get off his game. With our luck, he scores a goal tonight. Or at very least gets an assist.
We should grab these two points easily. In the past we would have made it difficult. Let's see if this culture change is real. |

Bruins suck, but Bergeron and Cassidy sat the entire team down to watch the Kyle Beach interview because they felt it was important to do so. Now that's leadership and class.

Mario's named in the suit, too. #66 was an incredible hockey player, maybe the best of all time... but between Dan Quinn, Billy Tibbetts, and now this.. you start to wonder wtf is going on there. |

You never really know with these things. Maybe next day regret on a 3 some? Maybe assault in reality? Maybe there was no issue then but now it's a money grab? No one really knows... yet. It's likely that Beach is a whole different matter than this. Who TF knows? |

Doubt Mario had anything to do with it, but when you're suing for damages you go after the fattest wallets, and he's the face of the franchise with a fat wallet. |

You can read the lawsuit and what allegedly happened. This has been out there for a while, like articles going back to last year, just not many outlets reported on it. |

Donatelli was out to dinner w/ Skalde and his wife. Jarrod left them alone in the car for a moment and the Donatelli grabbed her drunkenly and assaulted her. After they reported it to management, Donatelli resigned but the team (Guerin) wanted to sweep the entire thing under the rug. Skalde found himself increasingly marginalized by the organization and was eventually laid off during Covid. |

Indeed he did. Wonder how fellow NHL players feel about him. Perhaps he takes a few more checks moving forward in games lol
EDIT: seems players are speaking out
Arizona Coyotes' forward Antoine Roussel appeared on Quebec radio station 91.9FM station.
"The problem is the response he has 10 years later by trying to protect the leaders of the Hawks at that time," Roussel said during the JiC show on TVA Sports.
“These are words that are not acceptable saying that they are good people at the time. Who cares if they are good people. What we want is for there to be justice and for this guy to be protected. [...] What we want to hear is that you have empathy for Kyle Beach. He broke ground, it ruined his career. [...] And besides, they ruined the careers of the guys of the NCAA, I cannot believe it. I'm shocked."
“I am really disappointed with the treatment he received within his organization,” continued Roussel. "I'm furious inside that the Hawks organization has turned a blind eye to what happened. They broke his career. He must have lived 10 years in turmoil. Worst of all, the Hawks wrote the abuser a letter of recommendation to go to an NCAA school and do this to other kids. I found that absurd.
“I think that as an organization, we owe it to Kyle Beach to have an internal investigation, to find out who knew what. It's hard to know who knows what and when. It's been 10 years since that happened. But as a player I want to get to the bottom of this and I want to know what happened. "
"He might be a great leader on the ice but he's a small human being |

Totally agree. Although it is true there are more methods for applying pressure than there used to be (such as the points moving laterally, looking for lanes & plays), the value of getting a puck in close proximity to the net can't be understated. The problem I see is many d men get those pucks too high. Goalies are able to trap pucks for face offs etc. The challenge is keeping shots low to force rebounds, deflections with both opposing players and your own sticks and being opportunistic down low. Getting non shooting players in position is key, otherwise can't take advantage of loose pucks. Bad power plays are ones where non shooting players don't crash the net, are too stationary or expect the shooter to make it all happen from a distance. Those do happen on occasion, but is not high percentage.

Sounds like they were taking some kind of limo taxi or ride share. Donatelli was Skalde's boss at the time, btw. |

Looks like Donatelli may have some problems along with Guerin. Not sure why it's taken so long for this to come out. Frankly, I'm not sure why Skalde didn't do what any self respecting man would do FFS.... beat the living sheet out of Donatelli and then tell management why he did it. That would have solved the problem right away and given Donatelli some scars to remember it. |

I don't care who he is to me. He's getting his ever lovin azz kicked the sheet out of and there will be blood, stiches, and lost teeth involved. Boss or not. That's just standard man code. |
