I am hoping that the KC-PLD-Svechnikov line is not broken up. I am also hopeful that Maurice is able to roll his lines equally all night.
We have the talent to take games to our opponents by coming at them in waves. I am also hopeful that we drop this archaic terminology of top 6/bottom 6, that Uncle Paul has ingrained in all my fellow Jets fans brains.

Those all sound like reasonable hopes. I "second" the lot! |

What do you guys think of a GM who played a card, or turned a blind eye? He had to have heard Quin say we have to delay this with our cup run!!! Sad! |

I'm so impressed with this Jets team, they just keep on winning, finding ways, grinding it out!! Bank those points early in the season! |

I don’t think much. Chevy’s lack of action is actually a symptom of a bigger problem in the NHL. Trying to scapegoat individuals where there is a culture of secrecy and not wanting to rock the boat is what should actually be examined.
In all reality the person or persons at the top of the NHL should be held the most accountable. Bettman should lose his job for this. Furthermore this same crap also seems to be taking place in Pittsburgh. It’s a systemic problem and not a Chevy problem. |

Please do not say that word, Uncle Paul has been using that garbage word for so long now it drives me nuts.
I am disappointed that the Jets gave up a third period lead. I am not impressed with our defensive game at all. |

Jets are a thrill to watch most nights. Even in losses like Minnie, they find a way to keep you staring at the TV. I have a ton of respect for your sens team too. Of the teams that missed playoffs, you squad was easily the hardest working and never gave up easy points. Young squad that will be really good in the next couple years.

though very significant Chevy's life and career are defined by more than the actions he didn't take. He is guilty of not following up to see that the situation was appropriately and completely addressed. Note that the knowledge of the assault was not nearly as complete as what we all know now. Would more knowledge of the assault have made a difference in Chevy's actions? we will never know.
His actions as a GM over the past decade have shown him as loyal, honest, committed, acts with foresight and caring. How does that square with the assault and his non-actions? Its like this - there is disappointment and anger that he didn't act. He is paying a heavy price for the choice he made, though not the cost of his career. I am hoping that Chevy and Chipman make good on their word and work to improve the readiness of the NHL and sports world to respond to similar crimes so
no one is left so isolated again.
Perhaps the hardest part to square is that good people are capable of doing wrong things, people will use any excuse to troll and think they are being clever, smart people make stupid and tragic mistakes, wise people have lapses in judgement. I am a 'people'. |

He also didn't know of any actual assaults at the time. Just that an employee was being an idiot and sending inappropriate texts/emails and that management told him that they would address his behavior. I believe Chevy when he said that he had no prior knowledge of an actual assault taking place. It's brutal, and Chevy will certainly carry this with him going forward. Kyle Beach had his career, and life shattered as a result of this predator, followed by terrible leadership who said they would address it, but instead gave the predator a shining recommendation so that he could carry out his disgraceful abuse of power on minors. As much as this whole situation disgusts me, I do have a hard time pinning this on Chevy. There were at least 20 people with more knowledge and involvement in these dealings than Chevy. Its a brutal situation, and I won't be surprised if more victims surface. Predators never stop, and based on the timeline he had multiple years of "good behaviour"? I highly doubt that. |

Very well said Bikeguy ! I had little to no doubt all along that Chevy was clean in all this. Can't believe some posters on here are still harping on Chevy as if there is still some guilt to pin. Basically trying to create something out of nothing.
I'll also add that both Chevy and Chipper were extremely professional throughout this whole process and the biggest takeaway from that press conference is how much both of them truly care about the team, the sport , and the Winnipeg community. The last statement by Chipman in particular struck a cord about how lucky Winnipeg is to just have a team let alone one that is currently contending. Think about that next time someone on here complains about the Jets blowing a lead.
I hope that both Chevy and Chipman continue to run the management of this team for many more years to come. Every player that comes here always says how impressed they are at how professional The Jets' mgmt is , today you got to see some of that real-time. |
