Since player's cap hits, essentially, get prorated as the year goes on and cap space is "accrued" daily, it really just means we can acquire the equivalent of a 'full-year" cap hit up to $10,048,345

Boychuk move is interesting, gives them lots of options at the deadline. They need to replace Chara but a forward that can score is a need as well. If I had to guess I'd say a replacement for Chara assuming he doesn't improve and gets it together

I doubt it'd be anytime soon, but I'm sure they're going to look to upgrade the blueline come deadline time. Lindholm, Giordano, a Leddy return, McNabb could all be options. But the flexibility will certainly be there.

Not against the idea, but I have no idea who'd they'd take out to add a forward. Parise and Wahlstorm would probably be the two options, but I'm not so sure they'd bump either.

My admittedly-ridiculous pipedream hope is that Vegas needs to shed some significant salary once Eichel and Stone are healthy and would consider moving Theodore, at the deadline (assuming they're still a tire-fire) or in the offseason. Theodore has a great cap hit, is signed for this year + 3 more, and would be exactly the kind of mobility/offense the blueline is lacking.
