Who made this schedule. How do the rangers get less than 48 hours to travel from western Canada to have to play Florida. So dumb to me - TPC
I would imagine the same person who scheduled them to play in Mon, Tor, Nash, then Ott. |

Personally, I was always kinda 50/50 on drafting Kakko and LAF. Sure theres always the chance they become franchise studs but I felt the Rangers could also benefit from trading those picks at the time and bring in a massive haul that could stabilize the team at more than just 1 position. |

Wait what? I could have sworn you were always the biggest team Laf supporter leading up to the draft. I don't feel like looking back at old blogs though |

Caufield??? Pass KK and Laf have a much higher ceiling!!
What would you consider a haul? I doubt any team would give up a top ten or fifteen point producer and if they would that player would be 30 plus. Not the player a rebuilding team needs.
Gotta have a bit of patience here, team is gonna be up against the cap, gotta give these young players a chance to develop. |

I was excited AF, as evidenced by my avatar, but in the back of my mind I always wondered what we could have got if it was available. |

While things have not been as steady as we the fans would like them to be, I truly think the best thing to do is stay the course just let these guys continue to play. For a 20 yr old to be impactful in this league is an exception and not the rule. Whether it's Chytil, Laf, or Kakko...their progression and abilities won't be realized for another year or so.

My point was that I highly doubt Montreal would move Caufield or Suzuki. They are essentially the future of their team, without any other real high end talent around them. So, why would they trade them and then only have a top left winger? You don't empty the cupboard just to put one big can of food back in. That's not going to make a decent meal! |

I had no doubts about either at the time, but looking back in hindsight and realizing maybe we could have Zegras (plus another first rounder+ to trade back) and Stützle (plus ???) that hurts a bit.
Honestly though, Kakko and Laf are players every team coveted. I think COVID and the change in coaches/systems, plus the fact that the Rangers aren’t a bottom feeding team who can give each 20+ minutes a game and let them loose and go through the ups and downs are all factors.
Both, including Chytil should have spent time in Hartford to gain some confidence. This franchise just can’t develop forwards. |

No, it doesn't make sense playing laf on the 4th line. But, he hasn't done anything to prevent it either. Next stop is the press box, or Hartford. - OLDSCHOOL#6
Hartford might not be a bad idea. Let him gain some confidence and find HIS game. |
