The Hawks have about 23mil dollars of contracts to trade coming up here
Will JC be able to create value for those players?
Do you trust this green GM to make these trades?
That doesn't count if Toews and or Kane say they're willing to waive this TDL while the Hawks eat money on the last year.
Want/trust this GM to get the best offer? 🤞🤞 |

Hire Eddie as full on President
Somehow get Rick Dudley as GM
Hire Tocchet as coach
Dudley is 72...but knows his stuff. He can assess the hell out of talent and organizations. Let him figure out who stays and goes the next year or two - and help Eddie find/groom/mentor the next best GM.
Then Dudley can get the Scotty Bowman paycheck of Senior Executive VP of Operations and Community Services....
Tocchet at that time will be 2-3yrs in and the new GM would figure out if he stays or goes. But Rick will get honest efforts out of players and respect out of the vets. (See Phil Kessel)
The Hawks will have money to spend...especially if they make the right moves here - PatShart
I’d welcome Dudley or Gorton. Not Rutherford or Shero, those two have Bowman level bad moves on their record.

I'd rather have a younger guy like Tocchet- who I don't think is on their radar
He has both head and assistant NHL jobs
He'll hold players accountable and they won't cheat shifts
He also understands how to coach star/veteran/NHL players and will immediately get their respect
Whether he can be long term would depend on the teams play...but I wouldnt mind him - PatShart
And he might just kick someone's ass in practice if they blow off what he is saying. If for no other reason the possibility of that will hold their attention.

Same. Chirelli too avoid like the plague. |

Teams start to win a few years after he shows up everywhere he goes. Bolts in 2004 won the cup, hawks in 2010 won the cup, Leafs improved, Canes improved. And not sure but I think he's with Florida now.
HUGE Dudley guy here. He should be in the HOF as a builder. |

Turned it off in the second period. Probably will be doing that a lot this year.
Fleury shows why Crawford made everything look easy, technique.
Truly rock bottom. Organization has zero direction until the hire is made. Tanking isn’t really even appealing due to the very high likelihood of not getting a top 2 pick. Columbus is going to get a very good pick from us in the next two years unfortunately. |

Who, JJ? |

I'd be ok if Danny hired Eddie to be the President to oversee everything
Let him keep Davidson as interim GM and assess him. All moves go thru Eddie.
Not that he has any experience with it but those 2 together (Davidson with financial and Eddie with eyes/experience) should be able to handle it until years end.
Hire Tocchet as Eddie and he have a connection and they can find a GM they both can work with - either Davidson or from the outside - PatShart
And we'll never see Dylan Strome again. Tocchet didn't like Strome's game in Arizona I'm sure he'd like it even less now. |

The Barstool Chief guy is insinuating the same thing at the moment. He's had some insider info in the past, but who knows? You'd think Emily Kaplan might be the first to break it, as she's done most of this year. |

This club is not going anywhere this year.....Its time to reload....Keep Dcat, Jones and Hagel....Then house sale on everything else including coach, gm and players....This includes softie Kane and captain no so serious....Will not be watching any Hawks game wasting my nights....rather watch Netflix...Its humiliating and demoralizing. - shidler
I can't disagree with the softie comment but no denying his skills which are in the upper echelon of THE LEAGUE...keep Kane. The entire system suckS...as I said in a previous post, count how many times "we", pass the puck around the boards and the opposing team is there...dump the puck in the o zone and the opposing team gets it....pass the puck out of the d zone and the opposing team gets it...we take too much time to make a pass when it needs to be quick and we pass the puck to players who are already covered. TEAM IS TERRIBLE. |

Each game he's been in, Strome has taken a stupid, stupid penalty. His professional value right now is at his career low.
That being said, you cannot fire the entire team, especially as how you have recently fired the entire leadership of the organization. Except for one piece, the head coach. I (we?) all would have much preferred Colliton to have been successful.
The next move, hopefully before 6 pm tomorrow night, should be to relieve Colliton of his duties.
Edit: It literally does not matter who replaces him. - 35Tony0
Last night Strome took a penalty that led to a short-handed goal which was the only goal for the Hawks. Strome knows that he’s doing.

Reports are saying JC has indeed been fired and King is the interim head coach. Makes sense, given King’s stellar record with Rockford. |

Good riddance, JC.
Hopefully they bring in a new solid coach. King I'm sure is a band aid for now. |

Best of luck to Jeremy and his staff
Never should have been put in this position
I sincerely hope he continues as an assistant somewhere for a long while and/or a long stint in the AHL
This experience probably will help him down the road |

Yeah, set up to fail from day 1, unfortunately...maybe a team will take a chance on him in the AHL or as an Asst
Three years to the day from his replacing Q...somewhat poetic

I feel bad for Brookbank. Seems like a good dude who the players like. Had to make a clean sweep though. |

So, Rockford watchers, are we in for more of the same? Seem to be a lot of IceHogs fans celebrating that King won't be their coach anymore.
Please give me some hope. |
