I wonder who else green-lighted the Nylander acquisition. Surely, Stan wouldn't have been allowed to make a unilateral decision like that, without other affirming voices within the organization. Or, was this a solo flight? If so, I'm doubly glad he's gone. - gabriel
Like someone who can't stop dating people they just know can be "fixed" and become a better person, StanBo could not quit the reclamation projects and the boomerang Hawks players. None of them have worked out yet.

Better than Federko, Brian Sutter, Brett Hull, Shanahan, Oates, etc. I don’t think so. - BluesDroogie
Go back to your Blues page, put on your Shanahan game worn jock strap and wait a couple more decades to win another Cup! No, I am not talking about your prized Tarasenko game worn cup you eat soup out of either. Keep your head up (like Backes should have) and know even though the St. Louis Blows have a better record right now, your talent appraisal sucks as bad as your franchise's ability to win Stanley Cups. I will watch Bobby Orr's Stanley Cup winning goal and laugh even harder now! |

I'm just glad change has finally come. Stan can't damage the franchise anymore and JC needs to learn more about coaching and being a coach. One system does not fit all, never has. Hopefully this will be the beginning of something special once again. |

Possibly, but it will be a while. I know full well it will take a few years, I’m willing to sit back patiently and watch it unfold, are you?

This will take a few years but just like to see more compete level and passion. And going forward a balance lineup. |

Agreed but there isn’t currently much talent on the roster or in prospects. Wherever they look to put compete level and passion into the lineup it had better not include guys, like Reichel, until they are ready otherwise we’re not going to see fully developed players on the Hawk roster.
Not only do the President, GM and coaches need to be hired, what about the North American scouting staff? Lots of pieces to put together. Let’s hope King can get the team playing hard and I want to see guys who continually make dumb mistakes to see some time at the end of the bench or the press box. |

It probably will be a long time. This year has been a Brian Burke '18 wheeler over the cliff" season.
But I guess we can hope for a Bill Zito type transformation where he unloaded 13 Florida players and turned them into a contender over the summer.

We are sentenced to a long time in the wilderness after the 2009-2016 era. |

I’m afraid we’re in for a long rebuild too. I’m hoping Jones can be unloaded, unlikely with that contract, but the Hawks aren’t rebuilding around him. The new GM has one advantage, he owes no loyalty to anyone. |

[quote=HawkintheD]Cool! Yeah 2020 and 2021 were rough on UFO. Might have the years wrong but Way, Raymond and Chapman all passed fairly recently and in their 60's. Maybe not Pete but Chapman was like 69.

Pete passed away last August. He also played with Ozzy for a few gigs when Brad Gillis was interim in between Randy and Jake. |

Hahaha, here I'm enjoying a Clark and Sheffield Merlot, got to admit one of me favorite wines, don't know if you can get them out there but I'm thinking it doesn't matter much with all the vineyards there.
I'm a defense first guy so it'll always be the guys on the wrong side of the puck
I just want them to be more competitive, those are my expectations - BetweenTheDots

Was out to dinner with some friends so am a bit all over the place. Had a glass of cab with dinner and port for dessert but have mixed in some brown so tomorrow might be a bit rough.
Maybe the Hawks could beat the Preds to brighten my day. |
