Thanks for the updates and your take. It appears that they all are at least 2 yrs off from being on the Wings. But because of our lack of LD talent on the Wings now, maybe we see Eddy get a couple games at the end of the season after the SHL is done. |

Despite trading away Ryan Graves last summer, the Avalanche still possesses a deep defense corps. If Byram continues to blossom, general manager Joe Sakic could consider using Girard as a trade chip to add a second-line scorer before the March 21 trade deadline. He lacks no-trade protection and could interest teams in need of a skillful young puck-moving blueliner. Any thoughts on an offer for Girard? I was thinking that giving them Fabbri and Osterle.....a scorer and a depth D man that can play both sides.

I think Johansson could get a real shot. Yzerman is really high on that kid, and Lidstrom is a part of that. He’s scouting Swedish prospects and that’s one he continues to push. I would have no problem with all of them doing a full season in GR at least. Seider and Raymond are such rare cases for this team. I’m not sure if another 19 year old will break in next season. It’s not impossible at all. Just rare for Detroit for sure |

I certainly would be open to bringing him in. Not sure what COL would want for him |

Not that I’m against Girard but he really doesn’t fit the archetype Yzerman prefers on D. |

I’m just going off what he brought to Tampa and what he’s drafted so far with Detroit. |

Agreed, I see Edvinsson and Buium as the eventual top four LD, possibly Wallinder if he continues at his current rate of development. The pipeline now looks solid. |

so what is Yzermans plan to get a #1 C?
Draft is really the only way and it appears they wont be in the Wright conversation |

I think Larkin is it still 1C until a drafted 1C comes up thru the system, Suter has shown some fire in his last 2 games, so he is the 2C(for now) Raz can be replaced by Joey V on the 3rd as soon as Raz is traded. |

Mrazek out 4 weeks
Must be the proximity to Detroit that tweaked his groin.
Had to share this. |
