You're not wrong on a lot of your points, TJ. And, I think I get as sick of the negativity as anyone around here. But, as nice as the wins are, they simply aren't sustainable like this. Shot attempts aren't the be all and end all, but you just can't have a 3 to 1 ratio.
All I want to see from them is good, cohesive, competitive play that is sustained over long stretches of games. Once we can do that, the +/- columns will be sorted out.
Lots of practice time this week!! Hopefully, Fil the thrill is back on the ice for most of it. - Tonybere

Wait, I've got more sunshine for you. We didnt score a single 5v5 goal last night. 1 PP, 1 SH, 2 4v4
But seriously. If you go back and look at my posts during the first 2 periods there was a joyous, some might even say merry, tone to them |

At least you're funny occasionally.
...about as frequently as we complete a line change while cycling the puck in the offensive zone.
...on a Thursday afternoon. |

You know wants funny…
I was in the kitchen cooking last night and missed all the goals and couple weeks ago the game Ottawa I left the bar when it was 2-0 and went to the car to listen, and they scored those 3 goals
Obviously I cannot physically watch the rangers games anymore |

Seriously though I found I enjoy the Rangers more when I don't come here regularly. Its like a copy and paste of the same posts every game, every day |

No need. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion, not that it means anything, is its so god damned negative here.

I'll say this: There's alot of things to be excited about so far this year. We've avoided the hole that's plagued us the past couple years.
I think the negative people though are worried that it's smoke in mirrors. This sort of has a 01-02 season vibe too it, where we were in first but there were glaring issues at the forefront. If the coach can fix these issues or at least make them not as glaring, then we should be OK. Otherwise, it will all fall back to earth.

dude, we have a -105 SOG differential. The worst in the league. The next closest is ARI, who has -79. Florida has allowed the 11th most shots against and we put up 18 - picklerick
Not disagreeing that it’s alarming, but what’s the correlation there between us gaining the lead and then playing a defensive minded game? I bet it’s right in lockstep with giving up more shots.
The issue isn’t the overall play. They need to learn how to close out games better. |

I can totally see the parallel with that season but this team is so much deeper than that flawed team was.
If Laf and KK can get going I'm not sure what the ceiling is. |

They're definitely having a hard time flipping that switch. But the more they get into that situation the better they are going to get at it. |

we prefer to be called "people of reason and sophistication". but yes, that is an accurate enough description.
I am excited that Igor looks like he's a generational talent. I am excited that Fox is somehow even better than last year. I am happy that we have given ourselves runway (not too much given the division we are in) to fix the gaping holes in our game. That's really it. |
