It will always be the contract for most people. But he brings a lot to the team - TPC
The contract will always be a concern, same with Kreider’s as you already know |

Kreider's was pre pandemic. He got what 2nd line players were getting paid at the time. I always thought it was fair. He left some money on the table to get his NMC |

Yeah, a lot of people are up in arms about some of these contracts but the team could not have predicted what would happen. |

Yea agreed. Trouba I get the argument cause he got paid 1st pair money and no one really knew what he would be yet with the Rangers. |

Zib is looking better and better. Panarin looks like there's grease all over his stick. - JRR1285
I actually think Panarin is sort of reverting back to what he was in Columbus. He's more of a playmaker than a sniper, and in the past his goals have come because teams have to respect his passing ability so much.
Zib is indeed getting going.
If we can get Kakko and Laf going, I think we will be just good.

Trouba is definitely overpaid but what if Fox didn't pan out? |

I was the conductor of the Fast hype train and even I agree Goodrow is a better player.
Quickie has a slight edge on the forecheck, but that’s about it. I like Goodrow’s all around game more. - Bean_Dip

I think once Panarin is firing on all cylinders his shooting will come back. Once he is making those crazy passes the defense is not going to know what to do with him. |

So the shots argument, while I certainly agree its an abysmal area the Rangers need to work on, I don't agree just because the opponent has more, or attempted more its some kind of magical stat. If the other team attempts 600 shots in a game i don't give two (frank)s, i'm more concerned about the quality over quantity. |

Kreider is paid accordingly to what 50 point players are receiving. Troubas contract is is an albatross. Goodrow is not good as well. |

And given the population of the shots from the slot and high danger areas, that’s a material area of weakness and needs to be the focus this week in practice |

shot totals are obviously not always indicative of who is playing the better game but us being incredibly outshot happens to coincide with us being mostly outplayed. I think it is a contributing factor to our play |

Well yeah. The bigger issue is that the Rangers are just not generating even remotely the same quantity of shots. Obviously their chances were solid last night with the 4 goals but they need to get more than 18.
It's incredibly interesting that the team with the best record is also the worst on faceoffs. Florida must be really good at getting the puck back. |

i'm not arguing for or against his contract here but he's only put up 50 points twice |

The total shot attempts were 93 to 37 last night I think lol. I know shots don't mean all but usually helps show who has the puck and is dominating the play |

Yeah, so far it has, and the lack of Rangers shooting is horrible. I guess I'm saying overall through a season I don't read too much into it. I like the quality chances/shots stat. |

Yeah, sometimes, but the Rangers also pass up tons of chances to shoot, where as FL just fires from everywhere, which I wish the Rangers did more of. |

Needs to be a balance.
We have all seen where the Rangers take 47 shots and lose 2-1. We've also seen the reverse plenty during the Hank era. |

This is a really cool quick reference.
https://www.statmuse.com/...ceoff-win-percentage-2022
It shows the Rangers rank 2nd to last in shots taken per game and 5th from last in shots against. That needs to normalize somewhat. - JRR1285
Yup, and i believe its more of the Rangers looking for the perfect shot. Its been a problem for awhile now |

We dont get enough quality time in the O Zone to fire that many shots even if we took shots at the rate FLA does. We have a tough go of it just trying to set up the offense.. or get in the zone |

I understand why he did it last night, but man, knowing how the Rangers are in 3rd periods, I would have challenged that FL goal. It was pretty blatant crosscheck on Igor by whatshisface. |

Do they track that? How much time you are in your own zone and your opponents? I have a feeling its not as bad as it seems. I'm probably wrong though |
