Perhaps, just perhaps, instead of trading away our youth now (like last time) we should let these kids develop.

Those are all youngish pieces or not in the pros yet that project to be outside maybe the goalies. That's enough to get a team going, even if some bust out which they will. The way to ruin this is to trade our Colin Whites and Jack Roslovics away again.

rebuild

no compete now

no rebuild

no compete now

rebuild

no compete now

this sums up the demands of the sabres owners

Nail on the head homie. The "compete now" should come when the picks/prospects we currently have are playing consistent .500 hockey at least. These knee jerk reactions kill any momentum we get every time.

Way to go GMTM. I mean isn't that what he did?
- TC4145

Like the Guy said. Using future assets for a good proven player is what Murray did for only O'Reilly. He overpaid on Kane, the Fasching trade was a train wreck, Lehner or something..

oh my god imagine jason botterill making the eichel trade. probably would have been for Pacioretty and Stephenson.

Other than the legal mess they're in what else is going on? They've won back to back games haven't they?

While yes, it would be fun if they were good in three years, and I don't think they're good in three years by keeping all of those players. Including the 4 1sts and 4 2nds they pick in the next two years.

That's a list, and its good to be excited by it. but like i have said a million times, a lot of those guys are going to fall short of expectations.

It happens with every team, in every prospect system.

Prospects become "Untouchable" because of what appears to be limitless potential.

Hell look what we just went through with the NYR and Eichel.

Why? Let the kids develop, play who excels = winning

Trading anyone on that list or any of the 1sts/2nds now for a 30 year olds is a bad move. No?

Some will fall short, no doubt. There's also not a gamechanger/franchise player in that group. Still, if even half the players on that list (I forgot Power our 1OA...) turn into what they're "touted" as, we'd be in very good shape to make a post season run at least in a couple years. Start trading those guys away for 30 somethings and all bets are off, no?

Out of the actual young players we traded last time….
Besides McNabb, I’m not really missing any of them
*that come to mind anyways

Who’d we trade away that you’re regretting?
