I hardly think one of those goalies makes them 'competitive'. I think what it does is instills additional confidence game to game, helps them play better. A great save can build energy. Having two competent goalies would help this particular team a lot. Maybe even get you a few extra wins. - TheSabresTaco

from what i have seen he only stops the puck (sometimes) he never absorbs it like most goalies now. He is small and struggles to keep up because of screens and his positioning. bring me Houser - SabresFaninIndiana
200% he reminds me of 1980's goaltending |

No Garth, what im saying is that the Sabres Organization contuinually puts out a $hit product, with no real onus on success. Its been their business model for over 50 years no matter who the owner is, and if you say anything different from that, then the Blue & Yellow pom-pom carrying cheerleaders who read this crap jump all over you when you simply state the obvious.
Sabres Fan = Charlie Brown. - mark19
hmmm...i remember those mid-70's teams and even without taro tsujimoto in the fold they were pretty good and were built by hall of famer punch imlach...
that said, you're not all that wrong...the scotty bowman era was a bust, lafontaine/mogilny could only go so far, the hardest working team in hockey feat. the dominator fell just short, the ferrari sabres were the talk of the nhl town but just didn't have enough, the core was mediocre, and the tank was an epic fail...
although this sabres fan of over 50 years has a bunch of rocks in his halloween bag, i'll still watch them, albeit with a lowered blood pressure |

I REALLY think that "Hank Bolling" is "GARTH-GARFH-GARP" in disguise. This is how memory stricken you ALL are.
Learning to Swim
"Fans are learning to swim again, too."
It's A Party In The U.S.A.
"Enjoy this ride for what it is, Sabres fans. You deserve it."
“The kids are alright and the veterans are helping lead the way,” play-by-play man Dan Dunleavy said as the whistle ended the game...He couldn't be more right. Okposo and Girgensons are taking charge of a young club that is finding its way to wins despite lacking high-end talent on paper. This is a team that Buffalo will get behind."
Thursday Roundup + Expectations Changing?
"The Sabres need to keep bringing the type of intensity that fans have lauded them for during the early portion of the schedule. The team will at least be mediocre (rather than brutal) if they can maintain their level of passion throughout the long grind of an 82-game schedule...There will be losses. The Sabres’ commitment to the high-tempo, high-intensity brand of hockey under Don Granato means that they’ll still be watchable even when the loss column starts to be populated...
In the meantime, I’ll keep working on parade route ideas."
This isn't meant to TROLL. These are just facts. One has to become a Hockey fan instead of a Sabres fan. When you come to terms to realize that this Organ-i-zation is a second rate AHL Organ-i-zation AT BEST, then its easier to accept them for what they are, not for what they are going to be "in two to three more years."
Keep letting Lucy pull the football away from you as you try to kick the field goal, Charlie Brown! - mark19
All points taken. I couldn't keep my sanity if all I wrote about is how awful everything is all the time, though.

Any chance you can get a 1 on 1 with Nelson? Would love to hear his thoughts on the organization now that he is worth more than the Pegulas. |

He's been decent enough, 3 of the goals last night any goalie would have had problems stopping. He's not the solution. But they need to get better in front of any goalie. |
