Out of keeping one of Tanev, Markstrom, Toffoli. It's was always keep Tanev miles ahead of the other two for me.

Instead Holtby and Virtanen.

I remember Kane & Panarin amazing chemistry on Chi but the hawks were really strapped, so that I get.

Keeping Tanev & Toffoli vs. getting Holtby & Scmidt was totally doable and did not need hindsight. Virtanen I can understand at the time still holding out hope.

I've said it before but that OT goal vs. Minny was a poster they could have put up on the side of the rink ... that missing tooth smile on Tanev. That's the kind of moment that galvanizes a young team and sends good vibes walking into the rink.

I was saying at the time I could understand losing the other 2 but why not keep Tanev? Over the last 2 years this teams biggest need has been a RH shutdown Dman
