"If you're the slow-starting team, you really want to emphasize and make a point of starting off on the right foot."
Former #NHL player and coach Bruce Boudreau
I wonder how long you have to emphasize it to a team before it starts to work. Green has been talking about it for 302 games now and still nothing. |

When JB drafts players, he should be talking to WHL clubs about the import draft.
2021-22
Dynamo St. Petersburg VHL 4 1 1 2 0 2 |
MHK Dynamo Moskva MHL 10 3 4 7 2 2 |
Khimik Voskresensk ........VHL 3 0 0 0 2 1
Dmitri Zlodeyev was traded this year to Spartak and is playing for their VHL club but looks like he is a healthy scratch for todays game.
According to some was going to get a KHL call up last season and being a front runner to be selected to the WJ team.
Now he can't even hold down a place in a VHL team. |

Thinking on a high end used AVR.
Only using 5.1 B&W speaker set up
Want to play iphone tunes on it
Been looking at Denon & Yamaha
Any suggestions? Thx - Nighthawk
Depends on budget.
Denon has a nicer sound but they tend to fail way more.
Yamahas are user friendly and sound fine. They don't sound as rich as a lot of other brands but with B&W should be fine. Sometime Yamaha sound sharp depending on the speaker
Marantz is a bit above the two. Nice sound
Anthem would be my recommendation but it'll cost more. It's more meat and potatoes and focuses on the sound. Night and day diff from the other 3 I mentioned.
You can spend as much or little as you want but from my experiences the best balance from performance to price is easily the anthem. Push the salesmen for a good deal if you go that way cause I'm positive they won't sell that many of them. |

Arizona has three points.....3
I don't know if I've ever seen such a terrible NHL roster. They shouldn't even be allowed to compete at the NHL level with that group.
Jay Beagle #83 GP-13 G-0 A-0 P-0 PIMS-6 (+/-) -9
Loui Eriksson #21 GP-11 G-0 A-1 P-1 PIMS-0 (+/-) -4
Antoine Roussel #26 GP-9 G-1 A-0 P-1 PIMS-12 (+/-) -6
They have two points amongst them for 12 million dollars!! #tankcity |

3 first round picks and 5 second round picks in a what looks like a deep draft in 2022
They don't need deep though, they need spectacular prospects.
That organization from drafting Mitchell Miller too Chayka hiring, cheating to firing, drafting Barrett Hayton at 5oa.
Trading for Taylor Hall.

Nuckers boy-genius Chayka really screwed that franchise. Thankfully they now have a seemingly competent GM in there with Bill Armstrong. |

Was the Asst GM when STL won the cup.
Hopefully he doesn't rush things the way JB tried too. |

Nothing is free. Ribeye steaks now 24.00 . Shameful. - VANTEL
$24? That's cheap man was just at Save on and 14oz AAA ribeyes were $42 each. Ridiculous price gouging and we are in beef country here... |

Denon. Note a huge fan of the Yamaha tone but if it's home theater only the Yammy should work. But if you are doing music too the Denon by a mile. Spend a bit of money and make sure your AVR has discrete circuitry and power supplies. Under $1600 most AVR's area absolute junk built in malaysia. Garbage paper weights for the most part. |

Agree Anthem is a great choice but pricey. Equipment matching depends on what series of B&W speakers he has too. Marantz is great but I still found the Denon AVR's to be above the Yamahas and Marantz' in overall sound quality.
If it's an audiophile setup I would go Marantz for sure as they have entry -level products that are killer. Denon has a new two-channel integrated amp for $4699 which is stunning but man pricey.
System synergy is very important right down to a power conditioner and cables as well. Depends what's he's going for for sound. If it's both for HT and Music I would say you can't miss with Denon or Marantz but again have to be over that $1500 level for discrete circuits and power. Very important and the build quality is way better than the assembly line models.
If Nighty really wants to future-proof himself Denon has a new A110 series out but it's $5000 for the AVR. Does everything built like a beast and sounds just killer...but expensive.

Do you have any of the half speed mastered vinyl? Just curious if it makes a big difference or if it's a gimmick. I'm dying to get a copy of The Hip's Day for Night but all the local shop has is the half master version. Slightly pricier than normal. |

I do but it really does come down to the transfer and mastering. Unfortunately I don't have any of those Tragically Hip copies to compare for you. But for the most part my half speed mastered copies are better than the original pressings or CD's as they should be. I have the Metallica 45RPM 1/2 speed mastered from MOFI and they are very well done. But it also depends what your system/setup/cartridge is so you can get the most out of those grooves
When I buy expensive Audiophile vinyl online I usually try to read as much as I can with reviews to see if it's well mastered from the analog tapes and not digitally done. Digital masters can be good like the new Led Zeppelin ones but they are few/far between. There has to be a source where you can check out a review on the Hip album before you buy. Their last great album too...

Thanks. As a guy who has mixed and dabbled in mastering, that thread is hilarious. |
