The wheels fall off tonight 5-0 Ducks and Bo holds a players only meeting as the precursor to Green being fired after an 1-2-1 road trip. - DariusKnight
I like the slowdown on that save ... I couldn't tell on the replays at the time.
Man if he doesn't make that save, could have been a whole different game with the fragility of this team right now. On Demmer we rely ... crossing fingers for Halak tonight.
I have no idea who this team is yet so hard for me to give predictions. Lots of things that are positive but scoring is an issue.
I wonder how a guy like Garland would be on the PK? I find the current PK the guys are slow to react. - VANTEL
I’m waiting on a true identity to emerge. Long time coming at that with the last 2+ years being inconsistent.
So far though 5v5 has looked good & D more steady. Strange offence went AWOL for a stretch but hope it was only temporary. Still pinning it on special teams to be the real proving grounds. Line depth is promising once all are healthy.

I don’t think they are fragile just searching for continuity & progress built on a better roster & kids a year older.
Bob Murray placed on administrative leave by the Ducks pending an investigation - Nucker101
Sounds like he will be gone soon, seems everyone telling stories about him online right now think he's a POS.
Apparently when the ducks lost game 7 of the WCF in 09 he threw a chair, which hit a women in the press box. A lawsuit was later filed and botched by the womans lawyer, so nothing came of it.
As far as searching for identity goes, I think this staff has already established what they want their identity to be going all the way back to bubble hockey & Vegas - collapsing, relying on their goalie and countering.
We have the goalie but unfortunately we don't defend near well enough to counter attack. Someone else brought up the point that they're so exhausted and behind the 8-ball when they finally do get it out that there is rarely offensive opportunity that they can take advantage of. That is exactly what I see.
Also, it's not 90's NJ Devils rules out there anymore. You can't hook slash and hold to your heart's content. OEL got a double minor last game for only doing one of those things!

OEL got two separate penalties for two different infractions about a minute apart, but in the same sequence.
Oh, I am not saying you hit on every pick, but Benning hasn't really hit on many picks, hence why I think he trades them away. - Reubenkincade
JB’s drafting has been solid or better than most GM’s imo. Circumstances he created screwed up his penchant for wanting more picks. Namely UFA’s & the FA want for a retool.
I think the team just needs some different types of players in the prospect pool. - manvanfan
More C’s with high end potential & the obvious need of D. Still have some interesting prospects coming along in Truscott etc. Big mobile defensive D are a need for us.

Yup that bend don’t break style was taxing. Bigger mobile defensive D would help. It’s getting there but too slow for most of our liking. That said I hope it’s more that than Greens system.

OK my point was just that the rules aren't geared towards collapsing and mitigating quality of chances - you can't put a stick parallel to a guy anymore or you run risk of getting called.

True true. Being “big” and “mean” in front of the net is much less effective now.
Still need to be strong, especially your stick, but you really need to be smart, to read the play and break up passes etc.
