This team showed they can mesh during the bubble... until Green pulled the carpet out from under their feet in the Vegas series that is...
Look at the individual players that put a cape on their back and won us games. Horvat, Miller, Petey, Hughes, Motte, Demko,,,, they all had games where they stepped up big time and things were clicking... they can do it... they have done it. They still need help.... and the help that has been brought in is playing pretty damn good right now... OEL and Garland are good examples... so I think these guys with the right coach and a little more work by who ever the gm is going to be, can be competative. - boonerbuck
Different club during the bubble. Many player changes since then. Sutter, Beagle were big parts of that run. Tanev actually had a healthy year (of course in a contract year lol) and Marky was lights out until injured. Demko stepped in and got in Vegas' heads. Was fun to watch that club come together. Our bottom 6 is much different from the bubble club as is the D. Plus we saw a completely different version of Horvat in that PO run. Tough to compare the two versions of the clubs IMO. Were we actually a better team with Tanev Edler Marky Sutter Beags Roussell LE and a few others? Appears so lol for now. This club/core will mesh but as you said over three years ago Green won't be the guy to get this club over the next level and that was correct. Just like Benning on't be the GM to most likely take this club to the next level. With this roster we should be right there with the Flames in the standing even though the Flames are losing lots now lol. |

This is just my humble opinion; people need to stop referring to the bubble playoffs like it was some huge success story for the team, it was a very unique set of circumstances. The Minnesota Wild series was a good matchup between two middling teams, fun series.
The Blues had come off the Covid break and could never get their feet going, they struggled in the continuation of the regular season (seeding round-robin) and then into the playoffs. Not to mention the Canucks were vastly outshot in that series and Jordan Binnington was just God-awful for the Blues, Jacob Markstrom on the other hand was lights out for Vancouver.
The Vegas series wasn't even close, the Canucks were outplayed so badly by the Golden Knights it wasn't even funny. The ONLY reason they didn't get swept was again Markstrom and Thatcher Demko.
Edit: there were certainly individual successes that should be noted, imo, but not collectively as a team. |

Why not try and find an article that is up to date or at least recent. - manvanfan
I didn’t try and find this one, it just came along naturally. Oh, but one team went from last to winning the cup so changing coaches always works |

I disagree with the bold part. Green's Utica boy King is a disaster on the PP... Greens Utica boy Baumer is a disaster on D, Green is a disaster with his line up combo's.
He lost the players going back to his surrender in the Vegas series with his instruction to let Vegas shoot which led to bombardments and sieges they had no answer to... they haven't returned to form since. They need fresh coaches willing to do things differently and the players should respond. - boonerbuck
What do King or Baumgartner have to do with replacing Green? Terminating almost the entire coaching staff at this point sounds like giving up on the season, not trying to save it. |

Again, I didn’t search for this, I am not looking for validation. This was a blog post that referenced actual research, and provided authentic results, so I shared it. - 1970vintage

Plus your “article” basically said the same thing, doesn’t really do anything. - 1970vintage
Yeah I know. it's a 50/50. I'll hold out hope that this roster is nowhere near as bad as they are playing regularly and a change behind the bench will ignite. |

I’m all for firing everyone, but if they hope to turn around this season I’d only can Green and Benning. Shaw as interim and Johnson as interim then sort it out in the summer. |

Vegas tonight huh. I’m guessing it’s moral victory time. 2-1 Vegas, Canucks PK 100%, PP 1/2, but Vegas is too much for the depleted D lineup.
A bounce back in in Anaheim on Sunday saving everyone’s job. |

For me, it's got to be Benning, Weisbrod, Green, Baumgartner.
Allow Johnson/ Doyle and Gear to GM Interm while FA finds ones.
Give the reins to Shaw. Pull up Cull to run the defence. Demote King to AHL coach. Give the special teams to Kyle Gustafson.
Bring in Hank and Dank to take Gustafson's job. |

Booner, over/under on minutes into the game before these lines are abandoned?

Sure, I guess. Probably want to hire another more experienced coach for Abbotsford? |

The Avalanche have added some forward depth up front as Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports (Twitter link) that they’ve claimed winger Nicolas Aube-Kubel off waivers from Philadelphia.
1 point behind Van. Damnit. |
