Just a terrible period. Super lucky to be tied. Great saves by hart but wow. I don’t think we won one face off. Zero retrieval on the pp. - Hextall271

To many chef cooks on that flyer bench - THE EVIL WITHIN
As the saying goes too many cooks spoil the broth and any semblance of playing winning hockey.

Teams have figured out how to forecheck the flyers in their own end.
They seal the boards. 99% of all flyers exit plays are up along the board when they are being pressured. Teams are sealing the boards and pinching every time. It’s very noticeable.
You rarely see any defender back there with any patience with the puck or find that open forward to pass it up to. Anytime a flyers is behind the goal line/net. First instinct is to throw it up the boards and the other teams have figured this out and are loading the winger and center to that side along the board and it’s a turnover most times. |

It really was an atrocious call. I don't blame Trocheck for being pissed. Sanheim jammed his skate into the boards, that's why he went down. Trocheck had nothing to do with it. - MJL
That was obvious on the replay. Too bad the Flyers couldnt take advantage of it. Not looking good for us. |

Look at the Carolina PP. As soon as they get the puck they move it quickly around. Not looking to shoot right away but those passes are to get the PKers moving to create an opening. Flyers when they do get set up, move the puck around slowly and settle for unscreened point shots. Move the puck quickly. Canes play fast. Flyers play slow. |

Just throwing it up the wall to a sealed guy every single time it’s frustrating to watch |

Watching that judge smack down the hapless prosecutor that has no case is good entertainment. |

Everything about the flyers PP is to get it to the point and shoot.

I feel like every year JvR gets taken off the top unit as the net front presence. The alternative never works and they go back to him anyway… |

A clown show prosecutor that has no case, his star witnesses affirm the defense case, and then he intentionally attempts to get a mistrial to put his sh!t case in the hand of the judge instead of himself, and then the judge repeatedly smacks him down. That's better than Perry Mason. |

Flyers don't have the skill level that the Canes do. They just don't. Their identity has to be brutal hard work and dogged determinedness in backchecking and board battles to win. That's where they create the odd man chances that turn into goals. They're not the team to snap it around playing tic tac toe with the puck. - Letterkenney They are a level below the Canes in talent, and certainly the way to go is an energy uptick but they have do have the talent to have a decent PP. The scheme needs to be drawn by the assistant coach responsible for that part of the game. It didn't happen last year, and so far this year not great results. Hope tge return of Ellis will help
