You don't trade a 1st round pick away 3 years in a row.
- VanHockeyGuy

He did 2 years in a row.

Since you are wondering from '14 draft on players that are currently scoring higher than Garland's .80 PPG. Miller is at 1.13

31 players.

1700 ish players drafted in that time and 31 are doing as good as Miller and Garland are on the scoresheet.

So the oilers are dog crap 5 on 5 and the canucks are dog crap on special teams, getting those special teams going is vital in winning games.

You want to can them all mid-season that's fine with me. I don't want to give up on the season so easily, especially since I think this is probably the best roster we've had in a few years. I'd rather not go internal assistants promoted for the remainder of the season type of deal.
- golfingsince

I’d lean towards canning Green & interim Shaw. Baumer can go & hire an interim D coach as well. King can stay temporarily & be assessed during the season. Still need a Pres no matter what. JB can stay but have bis hands tied on trades etc til then.

It might be easier if the team plane goes down and we start fresh with an expansion draft.

I agree. I have posted him a few times. Been following him for a couple seasons now. Kid is going to be a good one.
Also, I am hoping the team has more than 1 1st round pick.

- Reubenkincade

Hard to say how we can get more than 1 1st. Lots of season left & what happens in the front office. A shake up & anything is possible.

I’d want Miller resigned he’s our best F & key to any idea of us getting better. Bo also. Both on fair deals to both given cap space & they truly want to be winners here.

Changing the coach to someone who's a professional experienced coach with much better systems play will make a difference even to the least talented team you can think of.

However, changing out the GM, with the current owner, isn't as easy as it sounds. Rumblings within NHL circles are that no one with any experience will work for the Aquilini group as they are too hands-on with the hockey operations.

- LeftCoaster

Hence the big need for a Pres. Also he gets free autonomy.

The Canucks are soft AF. FA will probably throw the twins into management when he blows up the team, more inexperience and another decade of rebuilding.

Get an experienced coach like Bruce Boudreau or go with Shaw. If there's bad apples in the room, get rid of them regardless of who they are.

- VanHockeyGuy

I could see the twins as Co Pres.

Another person I would consider for GM aside from Johnson is Laurence Gilman. He definitely knows about the cap and daily operations but more importantly he has worked for three bumbling GMs and should have learnt what not to do.
- VANTEL

He's done such a great job with Toronto's cap.

I would can Green, Baumgartner, King. Then appoint Shaw as HC and find replacements for Baum and King.

Which cap ? The 81.5 mil one or the 98.5 mil one?

Boeser doesn’t have a good shot. It’s mediocre at best.
- CanuckDon

He has a very good shot problem is slow release of late & miscast a lot. Needs a C to feed him.

People on Twitter are suggesting EP may be the issue in the dressing room.

Those twitter twits are punks & probably think that’s a compliment. Lol

I think it's Miller. You could kind of see it bubbling to the surface last year between him and a couple of players.
- Load Management

Maybe but he’s the best F on the ice most nights. Hog has been great.
