The Wings aren't better offensively though. We're better offensively than the last 2 years but that's not saying much. And more so that's to Raymond. We're not getting enough from the 2nd line and on down. Ras has been a huge disappointment so far this year. As been some other players. Losing to the Yotes I can't even say the frustration that goes into that. Scoring one goal against the leagues worst team doesn't cut it.

You immediately contract yourself by saying they aren't better offensively, then in the next sentence acknowledging that they are. If your point is simply to say "yeah, they're better than last year, but still bad," then ... well, yeah, I mean that's correct. We are in agreement.
I never said the Wings had a
good offense. All I said was that it is markedly better than last year, which is absolutely true. In fact they are nearly half a goal per game better than last year (2.7 vs 2.23 goals per game), which is a huge improvement. The thing is, when you are as bad as the Wings were last year, you can improve significantly and still be not all that great.
Anyway, I stand by my assessment:
- better offensively (+.47 goals per game)
- worse defensively (+.35 goals against per game)
- overall slightly better (+.12 net GF/GA vs last year)
- more exciting (0.82 more total goals per game scored/conceded)
- still bad (24th in league is points percentage and 25th in goal differential)
Fully agree that the secondary scoring is nonexistent and that Ras has been bad (though I didn't expect him to be anything else). Fully agree that there's a lot of work left to do. Fully agree that the Yotes game was miserable, frustrating, and embarassing.
