As frustrated as people get with Engvall, I think it's due to skewed expectations. He's not offensively-minded, but he's a good puck carrier, decent skater, and you can _usually_ rely on him to make a safe decision with the puck which lends itself strongly to the puck possession game that Keefe wants to deploy. When you place this on a third line against an opposition's top line, and you have someone who helps to keep the puck and keep it away from their own net . . that's a positive.

I think Kampf is a far better board worker and is a great worker - he's definitely the hardest working player on that line and he has the largest responsibility (as the centre). Kase has speed, offensive instincts, but also a really good sense of where and how to support the play.

They each bring something useful to that line.

The Leafs do need to figure out the LW spot

Can Ritchie finally produce on the top line?
Kerfoot's been better than expected with 9 points in his last 9 games, but I do think we'll see a drop off in his production...
Bunting started off strong, but hasn't been as effective lately and only has 1 point in his last 5 games.

The true weakness they have is at LW.

I give Ritchie 5 games on the top line unless he gets serious about forechecking. Maybe Kerfoot falls apart but he has been a lot better than I expected and Bunting can either give the 4th a bit if a boost or be moved up. I actually think he can be effective. But ya, they might need a guy with more punch than Mik showed last year. Maybe not right away but at some point.

It is. Even last year we only really had Hyman as a bonafide top-6 LW, and prior to that we were shuffling in guys like Johnsson (who I liked, and after a couple of forgettable seasons looks to be back on pace for 30 goals so far this year; good for him) or off-wing placement for Kapanen.

I do think Kerfoot can stick in the LW spot. He middle-6 minutes in Colorado and he was relatively effective at it. *We* decided he was a centre, when he isn't.

But LW is really an opportunity in Toronto. Bunting, Ritchie, Mikheyev all have the chance to step up and land the 1LW spot.

After adding a goal and an assist in KÀrpÀt's 10-1 win over JYP, Topi NiemelÀ (TOR) now leads the entire Liiga in points with five goals and 20 points in 22 games. Pretty special stuff from the 19-year-old defenceman. #LeafsForever

I thought it we agreed on nothing more than writing the word “tweet” beforehand.

Just nothing more than a favour to keep me from scrolling back to make sure I didn’t miss part of the convo.

He gave me a thumbsup
. Which meant that he took it as an agreement
but maybe that was just his pleasant way of calling me an bumhole lol
