With all the supposed fantastic drafting that's been done finishing at the bottom of the league for the better part of the past six years you'd think the organization would have some depth built into it....NO?

I played hockey last night, missed the game, looks like they played well. Maybe I should skip watching the games as I could be a bad luck curse on the team

Drafting has been ok to pretty good, but they’ve either ruined things by rushing kids to the NHL (to sell hope) or traded them away to compete now. Neither tactic has worked, so they find themselves in a position where they have very little high quality prospects AND they aren’t terribly competitive.

Yes, it's quite sad they really don't have any more blue chippers coming up through the system. Our great drafting GM.

I'm not trying to shop Boes, I think he's a quality player... but if a great offer came along that brought in a top pairing RHD, I could understand that.

I'm not onboard with trading Boeser, but fuck it, if it fixes the defense (in part) it'll be well worth it. If the Canucks aren't going to change the coach, who's unwilling to change his ways, then you might as well trade him because they're wasting his talent.

I think Höglander is kind of making Boeser redundant (if you believe Podkolzin will be a top 6 winger) so I’d be ok trading Boeser but as NYN says, it’s got to be a good young D or a C coming back.

I would love to send Miller to the Islanders for Noah Dobson. But the Islanders can't take on that salary, they're up against it.

On the Islanders, I didn't realize they had to start they season with 12 road games or something like that until their new arena is ready for them at the Meadowlands. That's a tough start.

Drafting HOG has been a real bright-spot for Benning and the scouting staff, he's turning out to be a fantastic pick. He's better than Podkolzin who was drafted thirty spots ahead of him.

IMO Podkolzin is destined to be nothing more than a role player, and that's perfectly fine, but not at 10th overall. They should've drafted Soderstrom and then taken Hoglander in round two.

I'd be calling around saying I'd be willing to part with him for a young solid top 3ish dman. He's worth that. He's a really good player. Without a proper defense we aren't going anywhere and we need to give to get.

The combination of where are team is skill/win wise vs age vs salary is just not good. Miller and Boesor should be moved out for dmen. Yes it creates more holes but salary and age are a big factor. Try again Jimbo or whoever the next gm is.

For the record Dumba has more pts than Boeser. Never about Dumba just about a dman of similar age and ability is all.

There's no chance Horvat and Miller are going to re-sign with Vancouver so Benning and his staff should have enough foresight to read the proverbial tea leafs and start making changes now. I mean really, what have they got to lose, they're once again at the bottom of the league.

The Canucks are again allowing way too many goals, 61 so far, which is fifth worst in the league. For the life of me I can't understand why they're so reluctant to make a coaching change.

Cause it's expensive. Has to be the only reason

One of, if not the worst, ran organization in the entire league. From the ownership on down to the coaching staff it's just embarrassing.

Can it be "once again" if they've never left the bottom of the league? It's just a continuation

Well, technically, they had three points after their first two games and were at the top of the league.....so

Love this one from Tim & Friends sports show...

"If someone keeps showing you who they are, you have to believe them."

After 8 seasons in Vancouver, @tim_micallef says it's time for the #Canucks to make a change with Jim Benning.

It is forsure.

The really tough part is the money is there from the owner it just gets wasted. I can see why Francesco doesn't to pay for another coaching staff and gm with the team being at the cap with misused funds as usual but sadly it's probably the only way to stop the bleeding. Get someone with experience to over see the last 75 percent of the year and make changes in the off season. Basically scorch scorch earth and try again. It may work it may not but ifnI were the owner thats what I'd do cause it is aparent the team isn't close and their is way too much bad blood and angst between the fans players coaching execs.

Boeser isn’t untouchable.

Glass or Dobson or Schneider to name a few

I don't think Francesco Aquilni wants a new GM because he's the one who's making the decisions, he doesn't want to lose that, and, or, no one is willing to work for him because of it.

Yeah that definately seems to be the rumor hey. I understand having final say as it is his team and he pays the bills. That being said if you want to gm a team yourself start playing fantasy lol.

Green has ruined at least 4 , JB has traded away at least 4.

Plus traded away quite a few picks that could have been.
